All transgender youth are allowed to use restrooms and other facilities consistent with their gender identity in Defense Department programs and activities, according to a new DoD memo.
The Oct. 26 memo makes it clear that DoD policy goes beyond bathrooms when it comes to access for all transgender students in all facilities on military bases. The services offer a variety of youth programs and activities.
Weiler referred to guidance from the departments of Justice and Education given to school districts in May, advising them of their obligations under law to allow transgender students to participate in activities and use restrooms, locker rooms and other facilities consistent with their gender identity.
In an Oct. 26 memo to the services and to the Department of Defense Education Activity, Todd Weiler, assistant defense secretary for manpower and reserve affairs, said he has established a task force to establish procedures for implementing the guidance.
The memo follows Weiler’s intervention in a case involving a transgender military child who was not allowed to use the girls’ restroom at Ramstein Intermediate School, a DoD-run facility in Germany. As a result of an Oct. 21 meeting between Weiler and the chief of staff of DoDEA, the child can now use the restroom, and all transgender students in DoDEA schools will be allowed to use the restroom with which they identify.

On Oct. 15 in Bangor, Maine, vandals spray-painted about 20 parked cars outside a Trump rally. Trump supporter Paul Foster, whose van was hit with white paint, told reporters, "Why can’t they do a peaceful protest instead of painting cars, all of this, to make their statement?"
Around Oct. 3, a couple of Trump supporters were assaulted in Zeitgeist, a San Francisco bar, after they were allegedly refused service for expressing support for Trump, GotNews reports. "The two Trump supporters were attacked, punched, and chased into the street by ‘some thugs’ that a barmaid called out from the back." Lilian Kim of ABC 7 Bay Area tweeted a photo of the men, in which one was wearing a Trump T-shirt and the other was wearing a "Blue Lives Matter" shirt.
On Sept. 28 in El Cajon, California, an angry mob at a Black Lives Matter protest beat 21-year-old Trump supporter Feras Jabro for wearing a "Make America Great Again" baseball cap. The assault was broadcast live using the smartphone app Periscope.
On Sept. 26 at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, as the first presidential debate was about to get underway, a woman wearing Trump campaign apparel was assaulted while heading to a debate watch event. "Nobody, regardless of race, gender, or political party, should feel unsafe because of the way they look or what they wear when they walk on campus," the Minnesota Federation of College Republicans said in a press release.
On Aug. 19 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Trump supporters had to run a gauntlet of angry protesters to get into a Trump fundraiser at the Minneapolis Convention Center. When they left after the event they were hit, pushed, and spit on.
On Aug. 13 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, 68-year-old cancer survivor Vester Bullock was beaten at a garage sale because he wore a Trump pin on his hat. The assailant "slammed his arms, walked up to me and said, ‘My wife told me I shouldn’t trust a God-damn Republican,’" he said. The man complained the staple gun Bullock sold him didn’t work. "I told him ‘I’ll give you your money back,’" said Bullock. "But he kept calling me all kinds of names." The man punched Bullock in the jaw so hard he lost a tooth.
On Aug. 12 in the West Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles, two women assaulted pro-Trump activist Tim Treadstone after a Trump rally. "This blonde girl grabbed my iPhone and threw it as hard as she could to the pavement," he said. "And before I could pick it up, the brunette who was throwing the food at people punched me in the head. My glasses and my hat flew off. There were claw marks on my neck." Last week, the two women were formally charged with assault and battery.
The night of the rally, Treadstone and a group of Trump hat-wearers were denied service at a popular Mexican eatery. Customers began screaming at the Trump backers and throwing food at them. Earlier, at the West Hollywood rally, "a can of Monster energy drink, eggs, and dog feces were also thrown at pro-Trump demonstrators," according to Breitbart News. "The can of Monster hit one man on the back."
On Aug. 3 in Bloomfield, New Jersey, an assailant attacked a 62-year-old man who was walking down the street wearing a pro-Trump T-shirt, local police said. "The motorist inquired why [the man] was wearing the shirt, directing profanities at him," a police spokesman said. "The [victim] continued to walk away as [the] motorist followed him." The motorist hit the man several times with a crowbar, causing injuries to his arms, hands, and thighs,
On June 18, 19-year-old British national Michael Sandford tried to take a gun from a Las Vegas police officer during a Trump rally. Sandford was arrested and reportedly said he intended to use the gun to kill Trump. Unlike most of the anti-Trump attacks, this event was widely reported by the media.
On June 2, in San Jose, California, rioters assaulted a group of attendees leaving a Trump rally. Fourteen of those attacked have filed a class-action lawsuit against the city and Mayor Sam Liccardo. The attendees "were victimized by being forced by armed police to walk into a riot in full swing where many were assaulted while police looked on," said their lawyer, Harmeet K. Dhillon.
In San Jose, protesters also threw eggs, a tomato, and a bottle at Rachel Casey, a 29-year-old Trump supporter they cornered outside a hotel.
"I knew if I was to touch one of them or I was to grab one of the flags they were waving in my face that they would have attacked me or beaten me with those flag poles that were metal," Casey told Breitbart News. "I just kept a straight face, I don’t know how. I just knew if I touched one of them I would get hurt. Luckily someone let me in that hotel, finally, someone finally opened the door."
On April 28, in Costa Mesa, California, anti-Trump demonstrators threw rocks at moving cars. One bloodied the face of a Trump supporter who was driving away after the rally. About 20 people were arrested.
On March 12 at the Dayton, Ohio, airport, Black Lives Matter supporter Thomas Dimassimo rushed the small stage where Trump was speaking, an attack that received widespread media attention. He was tackled by Secret Service agents before he could reach the GOP candidate and was later charged with disorderly conduct and inducing panic. Before the attack he tweeted: "I’ve had about all I can take from the violent trump ralliers. Saturday im [sic] going to check my people and spit on their false king." After his release from jail, hours later, he tweeted: "F**k you b**ch @realDonaldTrump[.]"
Violent demonstrators from left-wing organizations including MoveOn, Black Lives Matter, and People for Bernie, forced the cancellation of a planned Trump rally March 11 at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The belligerent anti-Trump activists streamed into the event and later celebrated shutting it down. The event, which led to the arrest of four people, received a great deal of media attention — though much of it focused on how peaceful the protesters supposedly were.
Dilbert comics creator Scott Adams received many replies when he took to Twitter recently to ask fellow Trump supporters to report threats they’d received, Heat Street reported Sept. 30.
One person wrote his wrist was fractured when he was attacked for being "an Irish Trump supporter and wearing [a] MAGA cap." Another tweeted "Had to take the #TrumpPence16 sticker off my car because I had my windows broken in 3 times."

HAVERHILL (CBS) — A Trump supporter in Haverhill is facing stiff fines for having too many signs in his front yard. But Rick Early is standing his ground, literally.
“This is my property, and I have a constitutional right to express my opinions,” said Early. “They’re not coming down.”
The city has an ordinance prohibiting political signs that total more than 32 square feet. Early’s signs add up to over 300 square feet.
“He’s way in excess of what’s allowed, that’s all he’s been cited for is that he’s over the signage that’s allowed by city ordinance,” city building inspector Dick Osborne said.
Early put up the signs in January and he hasn’t encountered any problems, even drawing the occasional drive-by supporter.
“It’s free speech, maybe I’m offending the Hillary supporters, but that’s OK. They have their own property, I have my own property,” he says.

Donald Trump wants to debate Hillary Clinton — but he doesn’t want a moderator on stage with them.
“I think we should have a debate with no moderator, just Hillary and I sitting there talking,” Trump said Monday morning in a phone interview on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”
The Republican presidential candidate said that criticism of NBC’s Matt Lauer following last week’s candidate forum in New York City is an effort to manipulate the presidential debates.
“The fact is they are gaming the system,” Trump said of the criticism of Lauer, “and I think maybe we should have no moderator. Let Hillary and I sit there and just debate. I think the system is being rigged so it’s going to be a very unfair debate.”

Saudi Arabia, which has retained the firm that Khan worked at for years, has donated between $10 million and $25 million to the Clinton Foundation. Hillary Clinton has made clear she intends to dramatically raise taxes on the American people if elected. She has proposed an income tax increase, a business tax increase, a death tax increase, a capital gains tax increase, a tax on stock trading, an “Exit Tax” and more (see below). Her planned net tax increase on the American people is at least $1 trillion over ten years, based on her campaign’s own figures.
Hillary has endorsed several tax increases on middle income Americans, despite her pledge not to raise taxes on any American making less than $250,000. She has said she would be fine with a payroll tax hike on all Americans, she has endorsed a steep soda tax, endorsed a 25% national gun tax, and most recently, her campaign manager John Podesta said she would be open to a carbon tax. It’s no wonder that when asked by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos if her pledge was a “rock-solid” promise, she slipped and said the pledge was merely a “goal.” In other words, she’s going to raise taxes on middle income Americans.
Hillary’s formally proposed $1 trillion net tax increase consists of the following:
Income Tax Increase – $350 Billion: Clinton has proposed a $350 billion income tax hike in the form of a 28 percent cap on itemized deductions.
Business Tax Increase — $275 Billion: Clinton has called for a tax hike of at least $275 billion through undefined business tax reform, as described in a Clinton campaign document.
“Fairness” Tax Increase — $400 Billion: According to her published plan, Clinton has called for a tax increase of “between $400 and $500 billion” by “restoring basic fairness to our tax code.” These proposals include a “fair share surcharge,” the taxing of carried interest capital gains as ordinary income, and a hike in the Death Tax.
But there are even more Clinton tax hike proposals not included in the tally above. Her campaign has failed to release specific details for many of her proposals. The true Clinton net tax hike figure is likely much higher than $1 trillion.
For instance:
Capital Gains Tax Increase — Clinton has proposed an increase in the capital gains tax to counter the “tyranny of today’s earnings report.” Her plan calls for a byzantine capital gains tax regime with six rates. Her campaign has not put a dollar amount on this tax increase.
Tax on Stock Trading — Clinton has proposed a new tax on stock trading. Costs associated with this new tax will be borne by millions of American families that hold 401(k)s, IRAs and other savings accounts. The tax increase would only further burden markets by discouraging trading and investment. Again, no dollar figure for this tax hike has been released by the Clinton campaign.
“Exit Tax” – Rather than reduce the extremely high, uncompetitive corporate tax rate, Clinton has proposed a series of measures aimed at inversions including an “exit tax” on income earned overseas. The term “exit tax” is used by the campaign itself. Her campaign document describing this proposal says it will raise $80 billion in tax revenue, but claims some of the $80 billion will be plowed into tax relief. How much? The campaign doesn’t say.
This proposal completely fails to address the underlying causes behind inversions: The U.S. 39% corporate tax rate (35% federal rate plus an average state rate of 4%) and our “worldwide” system of taxation, which imposes tax on all American earnings worldwide. The average corporate rate in the developed world is 25%. Thirty-one of thirty-four developed countries have cut their corporate tax rate since 2000. The U.S. has not. Hillary’s plan moves in the wrong direction.

JUNE 28–The broad spear phishing campaign targeting the e-mail accounts of Hillary Clinton campaign officials has yielded hackers a wide assortment of internal memos and other communications, according to documents provided to The Smoking Gun.
The attack–which investigators believe is a Russian government operation–has recently focused on the Gmail accounts of scores of Hillary for America staffers, according to SecureWorks, a research firm that published its findings earlier this month.
The firm contends that the hacking campaign has targeted “individuals managing Clinton’s communications, travel, campaign finances, and advising her on policy.” The assault, which reportedly began in mid-March, relied on a spoofed Gmail log-in page in an attempt to deceive victims.
That gambit tricked at least one Clinton volunteer, Sarah Hamilton, records show. Hamilton’s Gmail account appears to have been breached in late-March and hackers copied a large swath of campaign e-mails, memos, and documents. Hamilton, former spokesperson for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, has aided the Clinton campaign’s press operation. Contacted today, Hamilton (pictured below) declined comment on the hack.
As with recent online attacks on the Democratic National Committee, TSG learned of the Hamilton hack from “Guccifer 2.0,” who claims to be a Romanian “hacktivist” and solitary “hacker with a laptop.” He has dismissed the contention of assorted security researchers that he is part of a Russian operation as a “Total fail!!!”
The breach of Hamilton’s Gmail account provided hackers with a glimpse at the inner workings of a massive presidential campaign–from schedules and talking points to briefing books and assorted logistics. But the records are absent the kind of intel for which hackers were probably searching, like policy discussions and confidential deliberations.
Which is not to say, however, that the hackers did not unearth some embarrassing information, especially with regards to the Clinton campaign’s dealings with the press.

The Quebec government is turning to theatre in a bid to combat the radicalization of young people.
Among five newly government-funded projects will be the production of a play by high schoolers with the help of psychologists and social workers, in “which they can express their words, their aspirations, their worries, and the way to deal with them.”
Led by theatre company Théâtre Parminou, the play seeks to develop young people’s critical thinking abilities, by teaching them “how to decode what is hidden behind propaganda and manipulation to advocate actions that restore dialogue and trust,” according to a government press release issued on Monday.
This all part of an action plan to fight radicalization announced by the Quebec government last June, shortly after ten youths were arrested while trying to leave Montreal to join extremist groups in the Middle East. In January of last year, eight youths actually left the city — two eventually returned, while six remain in Syria.

A Republican lawmaker has introduced legislation to keep Congress members’ names off Navy ships if they haven’t served as president or in the military.
If passed, the proposal would block the naming of two ships — one after civil rights leader Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) and one after former Senate Armed Services Chairman Carl Levin (D-Mich).
The proposal, from Rep. Steven Palazzo (R-Miss.), was filed as an amendment to the defense appropriations bill the House will start debating Tuesday afternoon. It would block funding to name a ship after a member of Congress, living or dead, unless that member has been president or been in the military.
“We have 76 living recipients of the Medal of Honor,” Palazzo said. “I would suggest that the secretary of the Navy start there.
Hillary Clinton’s State Dept. shut down an investigation into the mosque Orlando killer Omar Mir Siddique Mateen attended because it “unfairly singled out Muslims.”
The Fort Pierce Islamic Center, where Mateen worshipped several times a week, was under investigation by both the FBI and DHS as early as 2011 for ties to a worldwide Islamic movement known as Tablighi Jamaal which was linked to several terrorist organizations.
But the investigation was shut down under pressure from the Clinton-ran State Dept. and DHS’s Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Office out of fear of offending Muslims, according to recently retired DHS agent Philip Haney.
