Twitter user @cheeahs launched the idea, according to New York magazine, with the notion "that anyone against the sort of nationalistic, racist violence we’ve been seeing could identify themselves as a ‘safe ally.’” Trump rode to victory with a "Make America Great Again" message that included a vow to build a wall along the border with Mexico — and make Mexicans pay for it — and deport millions of undocumented immigrants.
