‘State Sen. David Argall said in a statement last month that the program is “overdue,” as officials try to cut costs in the state’s most expensive division — the Department of Public Welfare.
‘”This initiative seeks to stop the abuse within our welfare system,” he said, adding that government benefits should only go to those “who genuinely deserve state assistance.”
‘Proponents have argued it’s not unreasonable for the government to require drug tests in exchange for payment, just as some employers do.
“The Zafar missile, as it is dubbed in the report, “is a short-range, anti-shipcruise missile capable of destroying small- and medium-sized targets with high precision.”
“It can be mounted on speed boats and other light vessels, can withstand electronic warfare, and is able to fly in low altitudes to avoid detection, the report said.
“Iran has a fleet of speed boats that often challenge US and allied warships in the Gulf.
“The vessels are usually controlled by the elite Revolutionary Guards and can be equipped with missiles.
“The Islamic republic says it has a wide range of missiles. It says some are capable of striking targets inside Israel as well as Middle Eastern military bases of its other main archfoe, the United States.”

Former Senate candidate and Tea Party activist Sharron Angle and former Colorado congressman and 2008 presidential hopeful Tom Tancredo have endorsed Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum.
In a statement released Thursday, Angle said she has known Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator, for years. “He is a strong fiscal and social conservative who stands on principles above politics,” she said.
“He has never wavered in his support for family values understanding the impact that strong families have on a prosperous economy.” She also praised Santorum’s opposition to amnesty for illegal immigrants, to President Obama’s health careoverhaul, to Wall Street bailouts, and to a cap and trade energy policy.

“The reporter on the story, Kevin Tibbles, also avoided using the word “Muslim.” He described the motivation for the violence as “a strict religious family that felt it had been disgraced.”
“What religion? Incredibly, the reporter didn’t say.
“This is no coincidence. The politically correct U.S. media is frightened by Muslim violence. It avoids the issue whenever it can.
“Just think about what would happen if a Catholic father had murdered his daughter for having an abortion. Would the AP and NBC News not have mentioned the religion involved? I think we all know the answer to that question.
“Political correctness is dangerous because it obscures the truth. It allows certain people and groups to avoid scrutiny for destructive actions. Today, the press in America is dominated by liberal editors who believe they are protecting “minorities” by failing to mention facts that might cast them in a negative light. Thus, honest reporting is becoming almost obsolete when certain groups are involved.”

What the hell!! I thought we were moving past racial politics with the first black President? Can we also expect Whites for Obama? German Americans for Obama? Asians for Obama? The guy makes a living on dividing Americans and trying to play us against ourselves! No? Just a group for blacks? Is he showing preferential treatment to one racial group over another? Can you say discrimination? Can you say prejudiced? Will McChelle take this message to another NASCAR race amd fan picnic??
‘Last November, amid deepening tensions between the bishops and the administration over the pending contraception mandate and other issues, Obama invited Dolan to the Oval Office, where the two men shared what Dolan called a productive and “extraordinarily friendly” meeting.
‘“The president seemed very earnest, he said he considered the protection of conscience sacred, that he didn’t want anything his administration would do to impede the work of the church that he claimed he held in high regard,” Dolan recalled on Tuesday. “So I did leave a little buoyant.”
‘That optimism ended last Friday, however, when Obama phoned Dolan to tell him that he was not expanding the conscience exemption to include religious institutions — such as Catholic hospitals, universities and social service agencies. In a bid to appease critics like Dolan, the White House gave church organizations an extra year to find a way to comply with the mandate that all health insurance plans provide free contraceptive coverage.
‘“I had to share with him that I was terribly let down, disappointed and disturbed, and it seemed the news he had given me was difficult to square with the confidence I had felt in November,” Dolan said.’
How can anyone above the level of pre-schooler say we’re better off after only one Obama term? One term wonder, er blunder!

The incident, which was captured on video, shows five-year-old Baylee presenting a poster board to her teacher and classmates. On it, there are pictures of everything the little girl loves — chocolate, hot chocolate, chocolate sundaes and her father, among other individuals and items
While she was talking about dad, he walked into the classroom, but she didn’t see him at first. When she did, she could not hold back the tears of joy. She ran to him and gave him a big hug.
“That’s my only birthday present I wanted is you,” she said while wiping tears from her face.
She kept asking “How did you ever make it, Dad? How did you ever make it?”
“I really missed you,” she told him, and then hugged him again.
Can you imagine how scared this lady and her kid were? Her dog peed all over the place. FBI ran a two year op and when it came to the moment to go live, they attacked the wrong apartment and held a mother and daughter at gunpoint. After realizing their mistake and moving along to the correct appartment, they offered a weak apology and something about reimbursing the landlord for damages. SCHMUCKS!

Sanchez says they left her on the floor for 35 minutes, with her daughter screaming for her mommy in the other room.
“I was told not to move, so I didn’t move,” she tells WBZ, out of fear that she’d be shot.
Eventually the feds figured out they were in the wrong spot and they arrested the suspect they were after in the next door apartment.
Sanchez can’t believe that a two-year long federal investigation ended at the wrong door.
“The looks on their faces when they knew they got the wrong door was priceless,” she recalls. “They looked at each other dumbfounded.”

“There was nothing surprising in NBC’s coverage of the Shafia murders at all. It was just another example of how the mainstream media routinely whitewashes Islamic violence, and essentially lies to the public about the nature, extent and magnitude of that violence. It is no wonder that the public is thereby rendered largely clueless and complacent, and that Islamic honor killings are occurring with increasing frequency in the West, with no one daring to challenge the Muslim community to work against the beliefs that give rise to them.”
“If gender is decided by nature, then what is the point behind families raising gender-neutral children? Many Yahoo users pushed the opinion that parents like Laxton were not liberating their children but rather imposing political ideology on them.”

Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer Applauds Susan G. Komen for the Cure for Temporarily Halting Grants to Planned Parenthood — Remains Its Critic for Cooperating in Abortion-Breast Cancer Cover-up and Downplaying the Risk of the Birth Control Pill
“Our group will remain as Komen’s critic as long as it continues to work against its own mission to eradicate breast cancer. Komen’s decision is a step in the right direction to protect women’s lives. However, I will not donate to Komen while it is still cooperating in the cover-up of the abortion-breast cancer link and downplaying the risk of using oral contraceptives (OCs).” asserted Karen Malec, president of the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer.
“In particular, between 2012 and 2014, revenues in CBO’s baseline shoot up by more than 30 percent,” said CBO, “mostly because of the recent or scheduled expirations of tax provisions, such as those that lower income tax rates and limit the reach of the alternative minimum tax (AMT), and the imposition of new taxes, fees, and penalties that are scheduled to go into effect.
“The U.S. economy, CBO projects, will perform “below its potential” for another six years and unemployment will remain above 7 percent for another three.”

SANAA, Yemen — U.S. airstrikes targeting leaders from Yemen’s active al-Qaida branch killed four suspected militants, including a man suspected of involvement in the 2000 bombing of the destroyer Cole, officials said Tuesday.
Missiles struck a school and a car late Monday in the southern Abyan province, Yemeni security and military officials said. Large swaths of the province have fallen under the influence of al-Qaida as the militants exploit a security vacuum stemming from an uprising against President Ali Abdullah Saleh that began last year.

O’REILLY: But the real reason that Mitt Romney is surging in Florida has to do with the Republican voter in the Sunshine State. Like New Hampshire, Florida is less ideological than Iowa or South Carolina. And there are two kinds of Republican voters nationwide: committed conservatives who vote on values above all else and practical Republicans who look at problem-solving and the ability to win.
“Talking Points” respects both of those voting blocs and knows that in Florida, the practical voters outnumber the ideologues, that’s why Mitt Romney is ahead.

We’re supposed to believe that? This is obviously shaping up to insulate Eric Holder from the actions of his people and thus insulate Barack Obama from the performance of his team as we head into the home stretch of an election year. It’s obvious DOJ was cognizant of subj gunrunning ops, it’s obvious this was an attempt to portray gun violence in Mexico as sourced from the US, and it’s becoming clearer this was an Administration goal to undermine the Second Amendment from the beginning. Unfortunately, some good people were killed along the way but their deaths exposed the anti-gun plan to the light of day and now we’re trying to clean up the mess which DOJ and POTUS won’t admit to having created.

‘Grindler, who as acting deputy attorney general, was the department’s No. 2 at the time of his briefing in March 2010, said he is “extraordinarily confident” the ATF officials who briefed him did not tell him firearms were being allowed to go to Mexico.
‘”That is just an absurd concept,” Grindler told congressional investigators on Dec. 12, 2011, according to the new report. “If that had been told to me, I would not only have written something, but done something about it. … I would have stopped it.”
‘For much of the past year, the committee, led by Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., has been investigating how “Fast and Furious” came to be and how two weapons tied to the program ended up at the murder scene of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry in December 2010. The majority has produced several reports from its investigation.’
Ok, this is an interesting concept. Could see it working in states where the populations are generally industrious have high percentages that pay income taxes (i.e. strong work ethic, tend to have greater sense of personal responsibility, clear commitment to education and local business). The people in those regions know how to create value, attract business customers, and attract money from other places. How will it work in states with large urban populations on state subsistence, huge reliance on state solutions for basic life problems, and low educational commitment?

Nine states already get by without an income tax, mostly by tapping other sources of revenue. Nevada and Florida rely on sales taxes that target the tourism industry. Alaska has taxes on natural resources, and Texas imposes substantial property taxes. The other five states are: New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Washington and Wyoming.
But in the rest of the country, income taxes pay for bedrock government services, including roads and bridges and schools and prison systems.
In Oklahoma, Republican Gov. Mary Fallin says gradually cutting the top income-tax rate of 5.25 percent will make the state more attractive to businesses, help spur economic growth and ensure Oklahoma is competitive against neighboring states such as Texas. Although the personal income tax does not apply to corporate earnings, supporters say company executives and employees will prefer to live in a state that doesn’t tax personal income.

For example, there is a provision that allows a taxpayer to buy a $12,000 car at a net cash cost of just $6,641. And if the car is run no more than 60,000 miles in its first five years, a loophole eliminates all expenses, thus reducing the tax rate cost to zero.

Originally published in 1983, How to Pay Zero Taxes has been fully updated to include all the latest tax rate law changes. It is chock full of practical strategies to lower your tax rate in 2012 and for years to come.
As a bonus, How to Pay Zero Taxes includes answers to practical questions to lower your tax rate, like how much you can invest in or withdraw from your IRA, what can and can’t be written off, how to avoid an IRS audit, the best way to donate to your favorite charity, and a lot more.
It’s no wonder The New York Daily News called How to Pay Zero Taxes “the IRS’s worst nightmare,” going on to say, “If there’s a tax break allowed out there, it’s in here.”

‘Muise, in fact, recently won acquittals on charges of “disturbing the peace” brought by Dearborn against a group of Christians after they were arrested by Dearborn police in 2010 for a similar kind of speech activity.
‘The Detroit News had reported that officials for a pro-Islamic advocacy organization accused the Christians of not playing by the rules of the Arab fest. The report said members of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations accused the Christians of passing out missionary literature at the festival in violation of rules that required them either to pass out the materials from a “paid booth” or “outside of the festival area.”
‘Whalen said Saieg and his Arabic Christian Perspective organization sued Dearborn and its police chief, Ron Hadda, because after distributing Christian information at the event for several years, he was told police would arrest him if he gave information to anyone at the Arab fest.’

But while the model and reality star’s Tweets on Sunday revealed her angst to see the season come to a close, she seemed excited to learn more about the Bible.
“On [my] way to church with the girls!” she posted on her way to the service in Southern California. Afterward she said that she “can’t wait” for next week’s service, which she indicated will feature a lesson about angels.
Why would anyone doubt politicians’ promises?

“Once marriage between a man and a woman is no longer protected by civil law then this opens up a loss of protection in other ways,” she said.
Vidmar continued, “If a marriage between a man and a man is considered equal to one between a man and a woman, then how can a church stand against any lawsuit that is brought against it in this way? We have seen in other states that have legalized same-sex marriage that Catholic Charities has been forced to close because they could not live out their beliefs with the redefined marriage laws. ”
Faith-based adoption and foster care agency Catholic Charities was forced to close its doors in Illinoisbecause its faith beliefs kept them from placing children with same-sex couples joined in state-recognized civil unions. Despite religious freedom protections in the state law allowing civil unions, the state cut its contracts with Catholic Charities.
Peter Breen, the attorney who represented Catholic Charities, said in 2011 statement regarding the incident, “This stands as a stark lesson to the rest of the nation that legislators promising ‘religious protection’ in same-sex marriage and civil union laws may not be able to deliver on those promises.”

In 1997, at a career high, Hamilton was forced to leave the ice to undergo chemotherapy for testicular cancer.
“What was about to happen really changed my life forever,” he shares. He survived cancer.
“I survived something that took the most important person in my life off the planet … I survived. What’s my purpose now? What do I need to do?”
It was at that moment in his life that he met his wife, Tracie, who brought him to church. “She took me to a minister, a man named Ken Durham. And the first thing he said to me, which was extraordinary was, he goes, ‘You have to understand that Christianity is a faith of history. These things actually happened.’ And I go, ‘OK, that’s a good starting-off point.'”
Hamilton and Tracie married and had a son. But another hardship came his way when he discovered he had a brain tumor.
When he told his wife, she took his hands and started to pray. “And it was in that moment I knew where I was going to put everything… my trust, my faith, everything.” Hamilton called it the most powerful moment in his life.
Hamilton learned that he was born with the brain tumor, which inhibited his growth as a young child. “That was the mysterious illness I had that they never diagnosed, that got me into skating … I’m 5’4; if I were 5’8, where would I be? … I choose to look at that brain tumor as the greatest gift I could’ve gotten because it made everything else possible.”
While the tumor was completely removed, it returned six years later. Hamilton didn’t think he’d survive then and he was doubtful of being able to have another child. But then “Miracle Max” happened.
Looking back, he adds, “I understand that through a strong relationship with Jesus you can endure anything. I just learned that the only true disability in life is a bad attitude.”
“God is there to guide you through the tough spots. God was there every single time, every single time.”
“My name is Scott Hamilton and I am Second.”
I Am Second is a movement which seeks to inspire people by allowing them to see and hear video testimonies of how celebrities and everyday persons have overcome their problems through finding their identity in Christ.

If you participate in a 401k with employer match, you’re in a good position.
My opinion- what is missing from 99.9% of 401k’s is the value of an adviser- education and coaching. How many of us have started working for an employer and been referred to a third party benefits website with no guidance about how to determine an income goal in future dollars terms, how to calculate the required annual savings amount in current dollars, a workable asset allocation model, good behavior and discipline during market ups and downs, how to handle rollovers/transfers during a change of employer, etc? EVERYONE!
The biggest points of successful investing can be boiled down to three investor behaviors- actually putting money away now instead of waiting until later to start (time in the market), staying in the market when the bottom appears to drop out so you can ride the next upswing (dollar cost averaging), and broad asset allocation (diversification). Need an adviser? Drop me a line!
