Richmond Va. – A parade to honor Iraq War veterans is being planned in Virginia’s capital.
The Welcome Home Foundation is planning the parade for May 19 in Richmond.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports ( http://bit.ly/zvbnUW) that the parade was inspired by St. Louis, which honored Iraq War veterans last month with a parade that was attended by tens of thousands of people.
The newspaper says Craig Schneider, who helped organize the St. Louis parade, is also working with six other communities to plan celebrations recognizing returning veterans.
Michael Wallace, a Richmond spokesman, said planning for the event is still under way but that city support could include services from the police, fire and public works departments, as well as the waiver of permit fees.

Just an angry girl
Livin’ in an entitled world,
She took the high speed rail goin’ anywhere…
Just a boy left on his own
Born and raised in parts unknown,
He took the high speed rail goin’ anywhere…
A preacher screamin’ chickens are comin’ home to roost
A liberal Senator sittin’ in the pew,
Politically groomed in a weather-underground living room
His past goes on and on and on and on…
Supporters, fainting
Up and down the social classes,
Blinded, by the “yes-we-can” spotlight…
People, welfare
Unemployment benefit extension,
Foodstamp, dependence at new heights!…
We’ve Stopped Believin’
So long hopeychangey feelin’
I’ll make it right, sheeple, oh oh oh…
We’ve Stopped Believin’
Hold onto that historic election feelin’
I’ll do you right, sheeple , oh oh Oh!…
Campaignin’ hard gives me a thrill
Everybody’s dreams I’ll fulfill,
Sayin’ anything and rollin’ the dice
Just one more term.
I must win, the GOP must lose,
TeaParty’s gonna be singin’ the blues
Oh my bullshit it never ends,
It goes on and on and on and on…
Supporters, chanting
Up and down the social classes,
Blinded, by the “yes-we-can” spotlight…
People, welfare
Unemployment benefit extension,
Foodstamp, dependence at new heights!…
We’ve Stopped Believin’
So long hopeychangey feelin’,

| Acting without any legal authority, President Obama has overridden the federal charter of the Export-Import Bank, and turned it into a competitor for domestic loan business, in utter defiance of the law. |
Ok, this is just insane. The government is offering grants to encourage groups to innovate ways to get more people on the food stamps rolls? Just absolutely outrageous. Please share with your friends and vote Republican in November.
—
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s website singles out Hispanics and elderly Americans as groups who often fail to enroll in the food stamp program (officially known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP) and says that one of the contributing factors that must be overcome to get more people to sign up for SNAP benefits is individual “pride.”
To reduce these “barriers” to food stamp enrollment, the Department of Agriculture offers non-profit groups the chance to receive $75,000 grants for projects designed to boost food stamp participation among those who are eligible but have yet to sign up. The Department of Agriculture believes that the SNAP program is“severely underutilized” and says that 33 percent more Americans who are eligible to receive food stamps have yet to apply, thus the need to offer federal grants to sign more citizens up.
President Obama’s Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack has also argued that food stamps are an effective form of economic stimulus that puts “people to work” because each time food stamps are used at a grocery store “someone’s got to stock it, shelve it, package it, process it, ship it–all of those are jobs.”

Buell is a zealot for the Religion of Liberalism. She is upset Obama has not done enough to radically transform America. She and her husband are so detached from the Constitution and and Founders’ principles it is scary.
—
Buell and her husband, Mark Buell, have long devoted energy and money to environmental causes such as the Go Green Foundation, a San Francisco nonprofit designed to get young people involved in environmental causes. She said she is “very concerned that President Obama has not talked enough about this issue.”
“I thought that he really did understand ‘the urgency of now’ on climate change,” she said. “He has not been vocal enough … and I want to encourage him to lead me.”
Buell’s glaring absence from Obama’s fundraising events this week underscores the challenges the president has with his progressive base.

As you can see, Medicare accounts for more of our spending than all the armed services combined. As you know, the thumb rule is 50% of a person’s lifetime medical costs occur in the last six months of a person’s life. The baby boomers are just turning 65 now. Medicare is going to be an atomic debt bomb in 12-20 years. Medicare has to be reformed and people have to realize that the government will have to ration health care in order to contain costs. Best to start working on a private sector solutions and allow interstate competition to decrease costs and increase quality of service.

“I think it is a terrible mistake for our country,” Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., recently told Fox News. “So you have the prime minister of Canada in China saying America doesn’t seem to want our oil, we will sell it to China. Those are good jobs here on the ground, almost 20,000 jobs here at home, direct jobs in constructing the pipeline, and it is energy security for our nation.”
For all of the talk about blocking Middle Eastern oil, Canada has been the leading exporter of oil into the United States for many years. The proposed pipeline would bring in an additional 700,000 barrels perday from the Hardisty terminal and also allow for at least another 100,000 barrels from oil fields in Montana and western North Dakota.
TransCanada’s most recent financial statement said the haggling in Washington has pushed back their target operational date to early 2015. Meanwhile, regulators in Canada are reviewing another pipeline starting in Alberta that will move west to deliver oil to Asia. Additional western pipelines are likely and could even possibly include the one now under construction in Hardisty.

State Sen. Rob Garagiola and financier John Delaney — Democratic candidates for the seat currently held by Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R) — have been squabbling for weeks about both policy and personal issues. The latest front is campaign donations, as Garagiola attacked Delaney for having contributed $2,400 to current Republican Rep. Andrew P. Harris in October 2010, just days before Harris succeeded in oustingRep. Frank M. Kratovil Jr. from the Eastern Shore-based 1st district.
“A financial contribution to Republican Andy Harris is an act against our Democratic Party, and it’s a sign that Delaney isn’t a real Democrat. This is something Mitt Romney would do,” Garagiola said in a press release.

Flying the Flag at Half-Staff
The Flag Code sets out detailed instructions on flying the flag at half-staff on Memorial Day and as a mark of respect to the memory of certain recently deceased public officials. This section embodies the substance of Presidential Proclamation No. 3044,34 entitled “Display of Flag at Half-Staff Upon Death of Certain Officials and Former Officials.” The section provides that the President shall order the flag flown at half-staff for stipulated periods “upon the death of principal figures of the United States Government and the Governor of a state, territory, or possession.” After the death of other officials or foreign dignitaries, the flag may be flown at half-staff according to Presidential instructions or in accordance with recognized custom not inconsistent with law. In addition, the Governor of a state, territory, or possession, or the Mayor. The Mayor of the District of Columbia was added to this provision and authorized the Governors and the Mayor to issue proclamations to lower the flag to half- staff in honor of members of the Armed Forces from their jurisdiction.
Again, the provisions of the Flag Code on flying the flag at half-staff are, like all the Code’s provisions, a guide only. They do not apply, as a matter of law, to the display of the flag at half-staff by private individuals and organizations. No federal restrictions or court decisions are known that limit such an individual’s lowering his own flag or that make such display alone a form of desecration.

“So I believe some Americans are simply saying, we don’t want to pay the price. We would rather spend our time on the net, texting, tweeting, gaming, creating our own little worlds. We are not willing to study hard. We don’t want to learn a trade. We don’t want to go to a demanding college. No. It’s far easier to devote our time to leisurely pursuits and let the government take care of us.
“That kind of mind-set has taken root in this country. And that’s why we are seeing the huge divide between the progressive party and the Democrats and the traditional party, the Republicans. President Obama wants voters to believe that massive federal spending will improve their lives and that he, the President, will tax the rich in order to make free stuff available.”

Does anyone see this working out for the benefit of the Iranian people? It’s pretty obvious there is a sinister agenda in play by the Islamofascist leaders for a variety of reasons (increase their own political clout, reduce clout of Israel, induce war with Israel, etc). The Iranian people are probably just like you and me but caught in the tidal wave of tyranny. Would hate to see them affected by radioactivity for generations to come if their government’s actions result in military strikes against the Iranian reactors. People everywhere deserve Liberty and the Iranian people are the true victims in this situation.
—
The Iranian response had been expected since late January when the European Union agreed to impose a phased ban on oil purchases from Iran that officials said was needed to help force a shift in policy and avert the risk of military strikes against Tehran.
Under the embargo, European Union countries will not sign new oil contracts with Iran and will end existing ones by July 1. The ban will cover imports of crude oil, petroleum products and petrochemical products. It will also cover the export of major equipment and technology for the sector. The European market accounts for about a fifth of Iran’s oil exports.
The timing of the two announcements reflected the pressures on Tehran as it seeks to pursue its nuclear program in the face of ever tightening economic penalties.
The new uranium enrichment plant, known as Fordo, has raised Western concerns because it is buried deep underground, making it more impervious to scrutiny. The Fordo plant also has elevated distrust of Iran because the plant’s construction had been kept a secret until Western intelligence confirmation of its existence forced the Iranians to acknowledge the plant in September 2009, just as President Obama and European allies were announcing it. The Iranians said at the time that they had always intended to reveal the plant’s existence.
House Bill 438, the “Civil Marriage Protection Act” to redefine marriage in Maryland, is being debated by delegates this week.
HB438 will strike from the existing marriage law the words “a man and a woman,” and replace them with the words “two individuals who are not otherwise prohibited from marrying.”
Homosexual activists are now beating on the door of your elected Maryland delegate.
The bill purports to protect “religious freedom” by allowing members of religious bodies to refuse to perform same-sex marriages – but only if and to the extent that such members already enjoy that right under the U.S. or Maryland Constitutions.
The bill would thus allow Maryland human rights agencies and judges to require a priest or pastor to perform such marriages, or to punish the refusal to do so, unless (s)he could establish an existing constitutional right to be free from that requirement – a showing that would likely require protracted, expensive litigation.

Watching the latest polls and listening to the media talking heads, it becomes all the more clear to me that this hype is just as I have suspected all along.
I stand by my “anti-Romney” fallacy. This is my belief that the search for any candidate but Romney is a completely false narrative. The “anti-Romney candidate,” or “anybody but Romney,” or “Romney’s not conservative enough” speak is pure fallacy that has been created by the liberal media. It’s a liberal media lie, and by buying into this lie, we are allowing the media to choose our candidate for us through our believing this is actually what all other republicans and conservatives want…an “Anti-Romney!”
In looking back at the republican primary, how else do you explain the rise and fall of every other candidate in the race? Each one’s rise was pure media-generated hype. So-called polls. The desperate republican search for anyone but Romney. Republicans have been riding the tide of the media-generated candidate from the start — from Bachman (the tea-party darling), to Cain (a real black man who will be able to take out the other black man), to Perry (his poll numbers spiked before he was even in the race), to Gingrich (a bold, feisty, “fighter” to take down the media), and now, to the last man standing — to Santorum (finally! they speak his name! because, apparently, he is only now the most conservative.) He is the current one riding high in the media-generated polls. But this too shall pass. (The media doesn’t respect Ron Paul as a formidable candidate, and Jon Huntsman dropped out too early to give the media a chance at propping him up although his name was being bantered around by the liberal left very early on.)
The media (both sides!) have fallen into this trap set long ago by the current administration in cahoots with the liberal media to take down the one most equipped to be take down Obama…Romney! Obamanation doesn’t stand a chance of winning on his record. The economy is in the tank. Unemployment is high. The country’s in chaos (I agree that the OWS protests were organized by the left and the big unions to set the stage to take down Romney as the 1%.)
The national health care issue and the Romney care issue may influence some, but in the end, it’s a bust because Romney had a state’s rights law behind him.
However, the administration is now creating a “social issue” to try to take down Romney and prop up who? Their next “anti-Romney” candidate…Santorum! I even heard liberals in the liberal media taking sides with Santorum against Romney! Why is this?! Because they know Santorum could be defeated by Obamanation in a general election.
I like Santorum, and I supported him early on because of his socially conservative stances. But I was puzzled when I kept hearing “everyone” calling for the “most conservative!” The “anti-Romney!” But yet, Santorum’s name was never mentioned. “Everyone” (hmm….media-generated?!) kept saying we need to elect the most conservative candidate, the “anti-Romney.” Again, why wasn’t anyone speaking Santorum’s name then? He was the most socially conservative candidate by far, but he was not mentioned until now. Oh! And now look at what’s been brought into the fire! A social conservative issue. Dropped right onto Santorum’s plate. How convenient! Yes, indeed, he must be the candidate best able to fight this particular “social” issue now.
So we now see, once again, the media, prop up a candidate. Our newest republican “anti-Romney” star. It’s clear to me that the liberal hacks in the media know Santorum is un-electable in the general election. Hey, “anyone but Romney” though!
Remember when the liberal commentator in a recent republican debate had a 15 minute rant on a “contraception” and “birth control” question? Many conservative analysts now believe, in light of the current shenanigans of this administration, that the liberal commentator was ordered to ask this question by the liberal media and some in the administration. Remember everyone was laughing about how stupid a question it was and wondering why the liberal commentator was spending so much time on it, etc.? Remember who the liberal commentator directed his questions to? Romney and Santorum.
The issue today, however, IS NOT truly about “contraception” or “birth control” or even the “Catholic Church.” It’s about our Constitutional rights. It’s about the Constitutional rights of every citizen, and how this administration wants to trample those rights. This affects everyone, Catholic or not, but it’s being framed as “a woman’s issue” – birth control, contraception, etc. in order to distract and detract from the real issue so that the media can skew it, and people will be fooled into thinking this is all about “contraception” and “Catholics.” It’s not. If you listen to the liberal talking points, they are all about “women’s rights.” They don’t want to go near the fact that it is about the Constitution.
I support Romney in this election, not because I think he is the most conservative candidate (I do not), but he is quite conservative enough for me, and he IS THE MOST ELECTABLE.
We NEED to take out the Obamanation. Romney is the only one who can do it. The current administration and the liberal media know this, and that’s why THEY created the “Anti-Romney” fallacy: The search by “all” republicans for that candidate who MUST BE “ANYONE BUT ROMNEY!”

Another ‘victimless crime’ by the government. Yet in this case, there are victims- the millions of people who participate in employer 401k plans. Of course they won’t realize they are victims and may never know the government brokered a deal to have them shoulder the responsibility instead of lenders with shady lending practices who once again get to deal from the bottom of the deck.
—
Asset managers are frustrated with the deal because, in addition to the debt the banks own, it gives credit to the lenders for changes to loans they hold no interest in and oversee for investors. That “treats people’s 401(k)s and pensions,” which hold mortgage securities, “like perpetrators as opposed to victims,” Simon said. The deal comes after all 50 states announced a probe into foreclosures in 2010 following disclosures of faulty documents used to seize homes, costing bondholders as liquidations of bad debt were delayed.
“Think about this, you tell your kid, ‘You did something bad, I’m going to fine you $10, but if you can steal $22 from your mom, you can pay me with that,’ ” Simon said yesterday in a telephone interview from Newport Beach, California.

FREEBIRTH”
(music by Lynyrd Skynyrd)
If I abort religious freedom tomorrow
Would you excommunicate me,
For I must force a violation of conscience
Cause there’s too many women burdened with babies.
But if I stayed with my pledge to the Cardinal
Well our agenda’s just wouldn’t be the same,
Cause I’m as free of the Constitution as a bird now
And free birth control you’ll be required to aid….
oh oh oh oh …
Free contraceptives in the church foyer! …
Bye bye partial birth baby it’s been a dispicable act
Though my true feelings I won’t change,
Mama please don’t take it so sadly
Cause the Lord knows I’m to blame.
If you stay here w/ planned-parenthood now
Risk of another pregnancy just won’t be the same,
Cause you’re as free as a bird now
“how ’bout no more burden huh?!”
And free birth control is really just first-aid!
oh oh oh oh …
Free ribbed & lubed condoms in the church foyer! …

Huckabee’s got the right idea!
—
“I remember very vividly when John F. Kennedy said that we are all Berliners, but in many ways, thanks to President Obama, we are all Catholics now, we are all standing together,” said Mr. Huckabee, an ordained Southern Baptist minister.
“You know, growing up a Baptist in the South I never thought I’d see the day when I would stand in front of several thousand people and say ‘We’re all Catholic.'”
Amid speculation that the Obama White House was preparing a new compromise proposal designed to tamp down the political fury, Mr. Huckabee added the president has done more to rally the Republican Party base than any of the current crop of GOP presidential hopefuls.
“I want to say a great big thank you to President Obama. … You have done more than any person in the entire GOP field, [than] any candidate has done, to bring this party to unity and energize this party as a result of your attack on religious liberty,” he said.
He’s already overstepped his Constitutional authority many times over. A liberal revision of the Second Amendment would be a declaration of war on the American People.
—
Mr. LaPierre said the president’s two Supreme Court appointees — Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan— are “two of the most rabid anti-gun justices in history.” He also accused Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg of being a foe of gun rights.
And with the possibility of two or more Supreme Court justice positions opening during the next four years, the NRA official warned that gun ownership would be in jeopardy if Mr. Obama stays in office.
“If we get one more like those three, the Second Amendment is finished,” he said. “It’ll be the end of our freedom forever.”
Ugh! Why must homosexual behavior be in our faces on television, at Home Depot, and now at Penney’s? What’s next- gay gas stations? Look, there are certain lines of clothes at Penney’s I like to buy, but now I’m having strong reservations about giving them by business. Less than one percent of the population behaves in a manner that since the dawn of time is considered immoral and unethical. Since it’s been politicized and now adopted as a pet issue by the poltical left, it’s got a seat at the table of public debate largely because it’s a vote getter for the Democrat party. Penney’s and Depot identify the gay community as a ‘growth market’ while alienating the typical shopper? I don’t want to know about the sexual habits of store employees, management, spokespeople, etc. Best to dump Ellen and choose someone else. I’ll probably skip a stop at Penney’s next time I’m at the mall.
—
Recently JC Penney announced that comedian Ellen Degeneres will be the company’s new spokesperson. Funny that JC Penney thinks hiring an open homosexual spokesperson will help their business when most of their customers are traditional families. More sales will be lost than gained unless they replace their spokesperson quickly. Unless JC Penney decides to be neutral in the culture war then their brand transformation will be unsuccessful.
Their marketing strategy is to help families shop and receive a good value for their money. Degeneres is not a true representation of the type of families that shop at their store. The majority of JC Penney shoppers will be offended and choose to no longer shop there. The small percentage of customers they are attempting to satisfy will not offset their loss in sales.
JC Penney has made a poor decision and must correct their mistake fast to retain loyal customers and not turn away potential new, conservative shoppers with the company’s new vision.
I’m wondering why. Why when the Bishops met with the Obama administration last year, did they agree to the health care proposal with an understanding that an exemption would be made for the Catholic churches, schools, and hospitals?
I’m wondering why the Bishops didn’t state this same exemption to be made for people of ALL faiths? What about other religious churches, schools, and hospitals? What about small business owners of faith? What about just people of faith of no particular religion?
Now, once again, the Bishops have met with this administration to request an exemption from the health care bill for Catholic churches, schools, and hospitals, again.
Why don’t the Bishops go to the heart of the matter and address the real issue with this administration. The fact that this is a violation of the U.S. Constitution, and it’s EVERY person’s right to religious freedom from the government, not just the Catholic institutions. No one should have to request this freedom from our government.
The Catholic church has a loud mouthpiece that is well-respected and taken seriously. Why don’t they speak out for ALL on this issue, instead of just for themselves? I’m wondering why.
Occupiers paid $60 each to protest? Ought to be ILLEGAL! Paying people to incite public unrest is unethical. Accepting payment to create a public nuisance is unethical! There is NOTHING grassroots about the ‘Rot’-upy movement. All political scheming to dimish those with opinions different from tax-and-spend liberals.
