House Votes to Repeal President Obama’s Medicare Rationing Board
Washington, DC – Today, the House voted to repeal President Obama’s Medicare rationing board known as the Independent Payment Advisory Board or IPAB. The panel of 15 unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats’ sole purpose would be to cut funding for Medicare. Even though the board would make important medical decisions, it is expressly forbidden from having members who are active health care providers.
“Buried deep in the President’s 2,000 page health care bill, was one of Nancy Pelosi’s “you have to pass the bill to know what’s in it” surprises-the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB),” said Rep. Politically it was a wobbly construction from the start. It seems half of Washington has flip-flopped over mandating insurance.
One critic dismissed the idea this way: “If things were that easy, I could mandate everybody to buy a house and that would solve the problem of homelessness.” That was Obama as a presidential candidate, who was against health insurance mandates before he was for them.
Once elected, Obama decided a mandate could work as part of a plan that helps keep premiums down and assists those who can’t afford them.

Biden speaks at $10,000 per couple dinner: “Republicans don’t know what it means to be middle class”
Vice President Joe Biden addressed 87 wealthy Democrats last night attending a fundraiser at the home of Sen. John Kerry in Georgetown. As they dined on New York strip steaks, and white truffle mashed potatos underneath a outdoor tent, Biden criticized Republicans for being out of touch.
“These guys don’t have a sense of the average folks out there,” Biden said according to the pool report, “They don’t know what it means to be middle class.”
87 guests paid $10,000-per-couple to attend the dinner.
