The first lady of the United States is on a whirlwind publicity tour for her hefty new food and gardening book ($30), which the White House hopes will bolster Team Obama’s favorability ratings. I’d say it’s a classic recipe for rank campaign hypocrisy and media double standards.

While journalists savor chummy chitchats with Mrs. Obama about beets and Beyonce, FLOTUS is once again escaping hard questions about her cronyism, junk science and generous junkets at taxpayer expense.

Mrs. Obama’s 2012 campaign media blitz has already brought her to daytime airwaves (“The Ellen DeGeneres Show”), prime-time reality TV (“The Biggest Loser”) and children’s programming (“iCarly”). This week, she’s hitting up “Good Morning America,” “The View,” Rachael Ray’s cooking show, “LIVE! with Kelly (Ripa)” and Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”

Out: Let’s Move! In: Let’s Move … in front of the TV cameras!

My prediction? As soon as the fawning media frenzy dies down and Mrs. Obama’s book rises to the top of The New York Times best-seller list, POTUS will go back to claiming that FLOTUS is a “private citizen” who should be left alone. The Obamas’ Chicago strategists have long enjoyed invoking selective immunity for the first lady without challenge. Lapdog reporters have assisted in creating an impenetrable bubble of political protection around the profligate, policy-meddling first lady.

We’ve seen it before.

When conservatives challenged Mrs. O’s caustic 2008 campaign trail statements disparaging America and fear-mongering for votes, her hubby invoked the “civilian” shield. He threatened Republicans to “lay off his wife,” arguing that political spouses should not be subject to public scrutiny because they didn’t choose public life.

When Mrs. O’s lavish vacation in Spain — accompanied by an entourage of 70 Secret Service agents and 250 Spanish law enforcement officers — provoked a massive public backlash in 2010, then-White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs argued that the first lady was a “private citizen” who should be off-limits to tough questions about her behavior.

Horse-hockey.

Obama’s outspoken bitter half conscientiously and deliberately inserted herself into the public square long before the family moved to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue — whether it was organizing a Woods Fund panel with her husband and Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers, taking a publicly subsidized government job with Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, or parlaying her relationship with political mentor Valerie Jarrett into a cushy public job at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she oversaw a patient-dumping scheme that benefited her political cronies.

As I reported earlier this month, Mrs. Obama’s signature program (now run by Obama’s best golfing buddy Dr. Eric Whitaker) just received a $6 million grant from an Obamacare agency with zero independent oversight. Taste the boodle.

Just a humble private mom raising her two daughters while Dad does all that hardball politics stuff? Pshaw. Let’s not forget that Mrs. Obama leveraged her hubby’s Senate victory to snag a lucrative seat on the corporate board of directors of TreeHouse Foods, Inc. despite having zero experience in the industry.

When her garden gloves are off, her political boxing gloves are on. Mrs. O famously has castigated other Americans’ choices in how they earn their money. She used her East Wing power to push Obamacare. She has exploited the bully pulpit to restrict food advertisers’ speech. She has served the SEIU’s legislative agenda of increasing the welfare state and padding membership rolls with more government school workers under the guise of fighting child obesity.

And she has relied on questionable science to declare war on so-called “food deserts” in poor neighborhoods where she claims only fast food is available. But according to two major peer-reviewed and published studies: 1) poor neighborhoods had nearly twice the number of supermarkets and large-scale grocers per square mile as wealthier neighborhoods, and 2) there is no correlation between what students in a large-scale California survey ate, what they weighed and what kinds of food they ate within the immediate radius of their homes.

While she denies a Nanny State agenda, Mrs. Obama successfully has strong-armed several major restaurant chains into redesigning their menus to her exacting healthful standards. One of those targets is Darden Restaurants, which operates Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants across the country. At a time when most food service providers are struggling under the weight of increased taxes, health care mandates and regulations, Darden Restaurants just happens to be one of the few and fortunate businesses to obtain one of those coveted Obamacare waivers.

When Michelle Obama stops using her public office to push new Big Government power grabs and redistribute wealth to her cronies (flashback: Chicago Obama-lympics), stoke racial grievances, and meddle in Obama administration personnel decisions that lead to whistleblower firings (ask her about former AmeriCorps Inspector General Gerald Walpin), I’ll leave her alone.

Until then, someone’s got to deliver FLOTUS her just desserts.

Obama Ad: Little Girls Need Gov’t Condoms to Make ‘Dreams’ Come True

It begins with meaningful piano music, and a young mother explaining that she has two daughters, one six and one ten. The six-year-old wants to be a “doctor for dolphins”; the ten-year-old wants to be a fighter pilot. The intro to these two little girls takes nearly a minute.

Then, for no apparent reason, the mother launches into a diatribe about birth control, as the music rises:

It is upsetting to me that in 2012, the use of birth control has become controversial. Birth control isn’t just for family planning. It’s preventative care and treatment, it’s medication that most women need and use at some point in their lives, and it is as common in a woman’s medicine cabinet as cough medicine … That’s just one reason I’m so passionate about getting you re-elected this year. We need a president who will stand up for women’s health … The dreams of all our daughters are at stake.

Attorney General Eric Holder told a council of African American church leaders Wednesday that the “sacred” right to vote is under assault nationwide, with federal lawsuits and at least a dozen state laws that could hinder – or block – minorities’ access to the ballot box this fall.

“In my travels across this country, I’ve heard a consistent drumbeat of concern from citizens, who – often for the first time in their lives – now have reason to believe that we are failing to live up to one of our nation’s most noble ideals,” Holder said in a speech before the Council of Black Churches. The threats of legal assaults and lingering discrimination, he added, means that “some of the achievements that defined the civil rights movement now hang in the balance.”

As if to underscore the point, however, a voting rights group is worried that Holder and the Justice Department aren’t acting quickly enough to stop Florida’s Republican governor from continuing a purge of registered voters from the state’s rolls because they lack proof of U.S. citizenship.

Obama Will Not Win Re-election

It is time to call the 2012 election. President Obama cannot win. He will likely lose big, in a very lopsided election. Pundits will claim to be surprised when the outcome becomes apparent. They should not be, as the signs of such a result are everywhere, despite the mainstream media’s attempts to suppress them.
There are numerous reasons why Obama will lose. Incompetence, likeability, and duplicity are a few. Obama has alienated too many in the electorate, including large numbers who supported him the first time. In 2012, many will vote against him or (even better) just stay home.
How Did Obama Get Elected the First Time?
Barack Hussein Obama is a self-created myth, polished further by David Axelrod and a compliant media. He is a chameleon who takes on whatever shape and form best suit his purposes and goals. There is little substance behind the façade other than an Elmer Gantry style of politics. He is completely malleable into whatever form and shape best serve his personal interests.
A few examples of this “flexibility” are the following:

He changed his name when he believed it served him to do so.
He is not a religious man, but he joined a Black Liberation Church to sell his bona fides to the black community in his early days in Chicago.
He said that preacher Jeremiah Wright was like his father yet threw him under the bus when it became convenient (necessary).
He claimed to have been born in Kenya in order to enhance book sales as a younger man.
He likely lied on his applications to college to gain foreign student status. At the time, that category provided more favorable admission and funding treatment than afforded domestic blacks.
He claimed to be a constitutional professor when he was neither a professor nor particularly well-versed in the Constitution.

Little was known about Obama when he entered the primary campaign. He became little more than a complex Rorschach blot with a sanitized past carefully scrubbed and scripted. His campaign avoided specifics; his speeches contained no substance. The imagination of observers defined him.
His greatest asset was his “unknownness.” As a blank slate, voters imagined whatever they wanted in the next president. They were aided by a clever marketing campaign which emphasized his uniqueness:
As a political “newbie” and the first serious African-American candidate, he played well. He was an outsider who would clean up Washington. For many, he was the great healer who would bring unity to Republicans and Democrats, blacks and whites and America and its enemies. His Kumbayah campaign was hailed by the media, and a large, naive segment of the electorate believed it.
Why Obama Will Lose the Election
Why Obama will lose this next election is less difficult to understand than how he won the first time. Barack Obama was a fluke, an unlikely candidate with no demonstrated experience in anything other than reading a teleprompter and sounding good.
He was pushed to his party’s nomination as a result of the media. His election was a quirk, rather than something earned. Any Democrat who gained the nomination was likely ensured the presidency. Bush fatigue and the hapless John McCain made that almost certain.
Obama will lose the next election because his greatest asset, his unknownness, exists no longer. Voter imagination can no longer be manipulated in the presence of facts. Quite simply, Obama will not be re-elected because too many people now know him. His biggest attribute has been taken away.
What people got was nothing like what they were promised or imagined. What was a blank slate upon which to imagine an Obama presidency now is a full-blown portrait filled with failure, warts, and scars.
Obama’s track record is abysmal. Floyd and Mary Beth Brown discussed four of Obama’s failures:

Obama’s 825 billion dollar stimulus failed to keep unemployment below 8 percent as promised. Since President Obama’s stimulus passed, America has lost 1.1 million jobs. If you count people who have become discouraged and are no longer seeking jobs, some economists believe that real unemployment rate is above twenty percent.

Obama called his health care package one of his major accomplishments. He told CBS’ Steve Kroft he was “putting in place a system in which we’re going to start lowering health care costs.” Yet it has failed to make health insurance more affordable. According to the fact watchdog website FactCheck.org, ObamaCare is actually making health care “less affordable.” Workers paid an average of $132 more for family coverage just this year.

Obama predicted his investments in green energy would create 5 million jobs, but the Wall Street Journal reports: “The green jobs subsidy story gets more embarrassing by the day. Three years ago President Obama promised that by the end of the decade, America would have five million green jobs, but so far, some $90 billion in government spending has delivered very few.”

Obama pledged to cut the deficit in half, saying: “And that’s why today I’m pledging to cut the deficit we inherited by half by the end of my first term in office.” Even if every part of Obama’s deficit reduction proposal was enacted, the deficit at the end of his first term would still be $1.33 trillion, more than twice what he promised.

In addition:

His Obamacare legislation, despite all the state propaganda supporting it, remains unpopular and is viewed by more than half the country as unconstitutional. Recent hearings in front of the Supreme Court were embarrassing to the administration. The legislation is wildly over-budget and threatens to accelerate the bankruptcy of the nation. Further, the more people begin to deal with its implementation, the more unworkable it is considered and the more it is considered a mistake. Obama’s trophy piece of legislation is increasingly viewed as an unworkable, unmitigated disaster.
Relations between Republicans and Democrats and blacks and whites are worse than at any time in my lifetime. The former is on evidence every day. The latter has been emphasized with the circus surrounding the tragic death of Trayvon Martin.
The country’s foreign policy is a growing embarrassment. America has alienated many of its allies. America and its enemies are not doing so well, either. We don’t have a Cold War, although we don’t need one with what is happening. Russia is not our ally. China is exerting its newly developed muscle. Iran openly mocks the president as it proceeds to nuclear weaponry. North Korea plays Lucy with the football, and Charlie Brown falls for the trick every time. The Mid-East is in shambles, with the Arab Spring being nothing more than the replacement of tyrants who were friendly to the U.S. with tyrants who are not. Israel looks like it will have to act alone against its existential threat.
The economy has not improved despite record stimulus. Economic statistics are routinely “massaged” to make outcomes look better. Suffocating regulations, increasing debt levels and regime uncertainty prevent recovery. Capital and talent increasingly flee the U.S.
Obama has mortgaged the country’s future with his spending. By the time of the election, he will have added almost $6 trillion in new debt. There is no interest in cutting spending despite the doomsday warnings from multiple sources. Markets will eventually choose how and when the spending will cease. It will be at the convenience of markets when matters cease. Likely this timing will not be favorable to the country’s preferences.
Gasoline prices are soaring. The so-called “green energy” initiative has been exposed as corrupt political payoffs that will not produce economic energy for decades, if ever. Coal is under attack, exploration for oil is unnecessarily restricted, pipelines are stymied, and power plants are closing. Politically correct politics moves us away from modernity toward the Stone Age.
Obama is no longer seen as The One — just, instead, as another scheming Chicago politician. He is increasingly viewed as arrogant, dishonest, and incompetent. These are not messianic attributes. He is just another politician, although more flawed than most.

A great mistake was made in 2008. That mistake is now blatantly apparent to most voters and most political analysts around the world. Nothing Obama promised has been accomplished. Furthermore, much of what he did added to the country’s problems.
Even the fawning media and the Democrat establishment recognize his failings, although neither is willing to publicly discuss them. Democrats should have replaced this defective candidate long ago. Now is too late. Democrat sympathizers can only hope that this election does not destroy what remains of the party. Based on the debacle that was the 2010 election, that fear is not unfounded. If anything, the mistake that was Obama is better-known now than it was two years ago.
James Taranto pointed out the despair among Democrats and their PR arm, the national press. In an editorial, he cited several examples of disillusionment. Howard Portnoy was quoted in the piece stating:

What I believe is happening is that the left is reading the handwriting on the wall and resigning itself to the harsh reality [that] the man they trusted to “fundamentally transform America” is on the verge of being unelected.

Mr. Taranto added his own thoughts to those of the generally liberal pundits:

Not only does Obama’s re-election look to be in serious jeopardy, but his presidency has been an almost unmitigated disaster for progressive liberalism, nearly every tenet of which has been revealed to be untenable either practically, politically or both.

This despair was expressed last October. Things have only worsened since then.
Obama Stumbles Out of the Gate
Several different recent weeks have been described by various pundits as “Obama’s worst week yet.” The rate of his decline steepens as the campaign season heats up.
Now the Obama political campaign is seen as being in disarray. Politico described the early stages of the Obama re-election campaign as follows:

That’s the unmistakable reality for Democrats since Obama officially launched his reelection campaign three weeks ago. Obama, not MittRomney, is the one with the muddled message — and the one who often comes across as baldly political. Obama, not Romney, is the one facing blowback from his own party on the central issue of the campaign so far — Romney’shistory with Bain Capital. And most remarkably, Obama, not Romney, is the one falling behind infundraising.

… Presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney also hasn’t released the transcripts of his college years at Brigham Young University, or his four years at Harvard University where he earned a combined law degree and an MBA. But it is known that Mr. Romney graduated cum laude from the law school in 1975, and was named a Baker Scholar for graduating in the top 5 percent of his business school class.

… Another stonewaller in recent presidential politics was Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, the Democratic nominee in 2004, who refused to release his college transcripts during the campaign. … The Democrat finally relented in 2005, six months after he lost the election, revealing that he had received four D’s in his freshman year, including a political science course.

… The years-long secrecy about Mr. Obama’s college records has led to accusations that he is trying to hide something — for example, grades that might have justified neither his transfer to Columbia University in 1981 from Occidental College, a small school in Los Angeles where he was on a scholarship, nor his acceptance into Harvard Law School in 1988.

Donald Trump opined without proof four years ago that Mr. Obama benefited from affirmative action, prompting accusations of racism against Mr. Trump. A story even circulated that Mr. Obama came to the U.S. from Indonesia to study on a Fulbright scholarship under the name “Barry Soetoro” — the last name of his stepfather — although Politifact and FactCheck.org have both debunked that claim. The same story falsely claimed that Occidental released Mr. Obama’s college transcripts as a result of litigation. There was litigation, but courts have never ordered the college to turn over Mr. Obama’s records.

A conservative Web site, thetrenches.us, last week raised its “reward” to $20,000 for anyone who can provide Mr. Obama’s college transcripts.

This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend when we remember, reflect and pay homage to all the men and women who have paid the ultimate price for the freedom and prosperity we call the American way of life.

Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day. It came into being after the Civil War as a day set aside to honor the Union war dead, but actually Southern ladies organizations and school children had decorated the graves of the Confederate dead even as the civil war was going on.

Each area had its own date to decorate and though they may have been different they were all usually in the month of May.

In the 20th Century the dates were solidified and held to honor all America’s war dead and the name was changed to Memorial Day. It marks the beginning of summer, with Labor Day marking the end.

I can’t think of any place on earth where the deep respect American Patriots have for our heroes is as well represented as the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

This solemn, dignified ceremony is symbolic in honoring all who have given their lives in the service of this nation, whether their remains are buried at Arlington, Flanders Field or any number of Veterans Cemeteries around the United States and the world.

Patriotism has always come easy to me and has been an essential part of my life since the earliest days of my remembrance.

I remember the day Pearl Harbor was attacked, I remember D-Day, Iwo Jima, the taking of Berlin and the dropping of the first atomic bombs on Japan and I remember the day our long national nightmare was finally over.

I remember Korea, Viet Nam, and the Cold War and of course our wars against Iraq and Afghanistan and I have always had a special place in my heart for the warriors who stood between my family and the enemy.

I intend to take the time to stop and reflect this weekend on the price America has paid to remain the land of the free and the home of the brave and the men and women who have bore the brunt of that price and paid for our freedom.

I want to remember the families who have had to face up to the fact that the empty place at the dinner table will never be filled and the empty place in their hearts will be there all their lives, and I will marvel at the kind of strength and courage it takes to pull through such a tragedy.

I want to remember the young men who stormed the beaches and left their life’s blood on the sands of Normandy on D-Day.

I want to remember men who fought through the jungles of Asia to bring the Japanese Imperial army to its knees.

I want to remember those who manned the foxholes in Europe and chased the Nazis all the way to Berlin.

I want to remember the warriors in Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Afghanistan.

I want to remember and pay honor and homage to those who put their lives on the line for this nation from the Revolutionary War to the present day.

And to the men and women who have served and those who are still serving, I humbly thank you, I support you and I salute you.

Our country’s protections for freedom of religion is for all individuals and not just institutions.

Obama Administration to Kick-Off New Unemployment Program

Obama administration on Thursday will kick-off a program that allows people to experiment with a new job while still receiving unemployment benefits as part of an effort to help some 5.3 million Americans who have been out of work for six months or longer.

Ten states will be able to apply to participate in the program, and the Labor Department will announce the application process Thursday.

It’s modeled after an unemployment program in Georgia. Under that program, workers continue to collect unemployment benefits, plus a small stipend to cover transportation and other expenses–at no cost to the employer. After eight weeks of training, the company may hire the person, or not. It can amount to a free tryout.

Georgia’s program has found some success, though economists have expressed concern that it may allow employers to cycle through workers without actually hiring any. The president has referred to Georgia’s approach as a “smart program” that helps people get their foot in the door.
The secretary of the Labor Department, Hilda Solis, will select the states that can participate in the program.

The Republican Party is different.

The leaders of the Republican Revolution:

Newt Gingrich was a history professor.

Tom Delay was an exterminator. Dick Armey was an economist.

House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer.

Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford, who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in 1976.

The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work, who are often the targets of lawyers.

The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick, like First, or who immerse themselves in history, like Gingrich. The Lawyers Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of America .. And, so we have seen the procession of official enemies, in the eyes of the Lawyers Party, grow.

Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail?….Pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers, and anyone producing anything of value in our nation. This is the natural consequence of viewing everything through the eyes of lawyers. Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their clients, in this case the American people. Lawyers seek to have new laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their side.

Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But it is an awful way to govern a great nation. When politicians as lawyers begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes all-consuming. Some Americans become adverse parties of our very government. We are not all litigants in some vast social class-action suit. We are citizens of a republic that promises us a great deal of freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers.

Today, we are drowning in laws; we are contorted by judicial decisions; we are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all parts of our once private lives. America has a place for laws and lawyers, but that place is modest and reasonable, not vast and unchecked. When the most important decision for our next president is whom he will appoint to the Supreme Court, the role of lawyers and the law in America is too big.

When House Democrats sue America in order to hamstring our efforts to learn what our enemies are planning to do to us, then the role of litigation in America has become crushing.

Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American society and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished by hard work. Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more power will only make our problems worse.

The United States has 5% of the world’s population and 66% of the world’s lawyers! Tort (Legal) reform legislation has been introduced in congress several times in the last several years to limit punitive damages in ridiculous lawsuits such as spilling hot coffee on yourself and suing the establishment that sold it to you and also to limit punitive damages in huge medical malpractice lawsuits. This legislation has continually been blocked from even being voted on by the Democrat Party. When you see that 97% of the political contributions from the American Trial Lawyers Association go to the Democrat Party, then you realize who is responsible for our medical and product costs being so high!

A Hijab: Religious or Cultural?

Please don’t confuse Muslim and Islam. Muslim is the CULTURE. Islam is the RELIGION. Many who speak in and out of the news today confuse the two or use them interchangeably. They are not interchangeable.

One may practice the faith of Islam and live in a Muslim culture. The hijab (a headscarf that covers a woman’s head and face in Muslim cultures) is not required by the religion of Islam. It is a choice by those who are of the Muslim culture. Many Muslim women choose not to wear a hijab, and they are not breaking any Islamic laws. Many Muslim women, however, choose to wear a hijab as a part of their Muslim heritage or culture but not as a religious requirement. Again, it is not a requirement of Islam.

There should, therefore, be no reference made to this as being a “religious” issue. It is not. It is a cultural issue. There should, therefore, also be no reference made to this as being one in the same as the Catholic church’s lawsuit against the Obama administration’s birth control mandate. The Catholic church is currently defending its freedom of religion under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. This is very different from any cultural freedoms.

If you want to live in the United States of America, you must abide by its laws. Other cultures are respected, but not to the point of it becoming a security issue for others. The hijabs need to be removed in the U.S. when required for security reasons. If you want a driver’s license in the United States, remove your hijab, get your photo taken, and obtain your driver’s license. It’s a very simple procedure. No court of law needs to be involved. If you choose to shop in public stores and a security guard asks you to remove your hijab before entering a particular store, you must do so, or else don’t shop at that store.

And please don’t try to claim that the hijab is a religious article of clothing protected by the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment. It is not. It is a cultural article of clothing. Please don’t confuse the two.

Over the past quarter of a century (a total of 300 months), dating back to May 1987 and the Reagan administration, here are the 30 worst months (that is, the bottom 10 percent) for the employment-population ratio, along with the president who happened to be in office at that particular time:

Interestingly, the 30 (or 32, including ties) worst months for employment in the past 25 years have all come after the most recent recession ended, in June 2009. In other words, they’ve all come during the Obama “recovery.”

What’s more, under every other president during the past 25 years (spanning from the later stages of the Reagan presidency through the entire George W. Bush presidency), the employment-population ratio was always over 60 percent — every single month, for 260 consecutive months. In vivid contrast, with the exception of the month in which he took office (January 2009) and his first full month in office (February 2009), the employment-population ratio under Obama has always been under 60 percent — every single month, for 38 consecutive months. (For 32 consecutive months — from September 2009 to the present day — it’s been under 59 percent.)

In fact, the worst non-Obama month in the past 25 years was December 2008, when the employment-population ratio was 61.0 percent under George W. Bush. Comparatively, Obama’s best month to date (not counting January 2009, when he entered midstream) was his first, February 2009, when the employment-population ratio was 60.3 percent. In other words, over the past 25 years, the worst month under any other president has beaten the best month under Obama.

Sounds like it was the teacher who was disrespecting thoughtful conversation in the classroom. She must be very upset with North Carolina voters after the NC gay marriage Amendment too.

“”Didn’t Obama bully somebody though?” a student in the North Carolina classroom asked when the report was brought up, referring to an incident Obama described in his memoir “Dreams From My Father.” In the book, Obama wrote that, as a child, he once pushed a female classmate after other students taunted them — the only two black students in their grade — and called Obama her boyfriend.

The teacher, in the video, said she didn’t know whether Obama bullied anyone — but the argument quickly escalated, as the teacher yelled at the student, telling him “there is no comparison.”

“He’s running for president,” she said of Romney. “Obama is the president.”

The student argued that both candidates are “just men,” but the teacher took issue with the statement.

“He’s just a man. Obama is no god,” the student said.

The teacher responded: “Let me tell you something … you will not disrespect the president of the United States in this classroom.”

The teacher went on to say the two candidates are “not equal.”

According to the Salisbury Post, the teacher is still employed and has not been suspended.

Bennett said that since Arpaio’s investigation, he has received more than 1,200 emails from people requesting he look into the matter. He said Hawaii has a system where they’ll verify a birth certificate in lieu of providing a certified copy of it — and that eight weeks later, state officials have not fulfilled his request.

“They could say yes tomorrow and the whole thing goes away,” Bennett said. “If they can’t say yes to that simple question, then it makes me wonder if we have to take it to another level. And one way or another, we have to have some simple verification that people are qualified for the office if they’re going to be on the ballot here in Arizona.”

Reducing Profitability of Oil Companies Would Harm Regular Americans

The Obama administration proposed raising taxes on domestic oil and gas producers in its fiscal 2013 budget. Such taxes would, if approved by Congress, harm the economic performance of the industry and encourage investment overseas. Moreover, such new taxes would hurt American shareholders, the primary owners of these companies, says Diana Furchtgott-Roth, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute.

Looking first to the tax increases themselves, it can be seen that these fiscal efforts unfairly target the oil and gas industry, leaving similar industries untouched.

President Obama suggested raising $5 billion in 2013 and $41 billion over the next decade from tax increases on oil and gas, more than on any other industry.
In addition to specific taxes on oil companies, repeal of “last in, first out” accounting methods would cost the industry another $26 billion over 10 years.
Furthermore, a substantial share of international tax increases and Superfund taxes would affect the oil industry, raising another $21 billion, for a total of about $88 billion over 10 years.
In assessing the impacts of these policies, it is also crucial to look past the effects on the corporations to understand what lost profits will do to oil and gas company owners. And while many Americans may think that these corporations are dominated by a small few mega-wealthy individuals, the truth is that their primary backers can be found in the nation’s retirement funds.

Data show that the officers and directors of oil companies hold an insignificant fraction of shares of the largest five oil companies, ranging from 0.11 percent for Exxon Mobil to 1.4 percent for Occidental Petroleum, undermining the depiction of mega-wealthy individual owners.
Indeed, Occidental Petroleum is the only one of the firms where ownership by officers and firm directors exceed one percent of outstanding shares.
Private and public pensions, on the other hand, own 31 percent of all U.S. oil and natural gas companies.
Also, individual Americans own 3 percent of funds directly, and 28 percent through mutual funds.
Reducing the profitability of these companies will undermine their contributions to these pension and mutual funds, thereby harming regular Americans and robbing them of excellent investment returns provided by these companies over time.

Obama acknowledged his Kenyan birth; AP declared Obama “Kenyan-Born”

1. As of Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, Obama’s Campaign was putting out that he was born in Hawaii. This is known from the introductory speech given by Prof. George A. O. Magoha, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nairobi, on the occasion of a speech given there by Senator Obama that day. (One presumes that the Vice-Chancellor was given notes from the Obama campaign, as is customary on such occasions)

2. From the newspaper reports above, it is clear that the Obama campaign was putting out that he was born in Kenya, or overseas, during the period of June 27, 2004, until January 8, 2006.

3. In October of 2004, during the ABC Chicago Affiliate’s broadcast of the Obama-Keyes debates, Obama openly admitted — he conceded — that he was not a natural born citizen. (C-Span aired the uncut version of the debates, which contained this exchange, in the second half of April, 2005)

4. It is known from a classmate of Obama at Harvard University, that while at Harvard, Obama at least on one occasion admitted that he was born in Kenya. (This friend went on record on a call in radio program in Idaho in early July, 2009)

If any reader can find a link which documents a claim to a birth location before Aug. 28th, 2006, which differs from this timeline or which supports it; please let The Post & Email know of it, by posting it in the comment section below.
In a follow up report, The Post & Email has published a brief analysis of the Google Newspaper archive, which shows that Obama’s story changed after June 27, 2004.

In an exclusive interview with Townhall, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney rebuked a conservative group that is reportedly planning to assail President Obama over his 20-year relationship with controversial Chicago pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright:
“I repudiate the effort by that PAC to promote an ad strategy of the nature they’ve described. I would like to see this campaign focus on the economy, on getting people back to work, on seeing rising incomes and growing prosperity — particularly for those in the middle class of America. And I think what we’ve seen so far from the Obama campaign is a campaign of character assassination. I hope that isn’t the course of this campaign. So in regards to that PAC, I repudiate what they’re thinking about … It’s interesting that we’re talking about some Republican PAC that wants to go after the president [on Wright]; I hope people also are looking at what he’s doing, and saying ‘why is he running an attack campaign? Why isn’t he talking about his record?'”

“As part of its “Bankrupting America” education project, a group called Public Notice released this video on Monday and ran ads this weekend drawing attention to the Senate’s inaction. Their message was straightforward: “Stop pointing fingers and start doing your job.” It’s pretty frightening when we have to start treating our elected officials like recalcitrant teenagers.

“The Senate looks particularly bad because the Republican-led House of Representatives has done its job. Under the leadership of Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin and House Speaker John Boehner, the House passed its budget along a party-line vote in March. Whether you loved it or hated it, at least the House Republicans were willing to tell taxpayers how they were planning to spend our money.

“At least one member of the Senate has had enough. Sen. Dean Heller—Reid’s Republican fellow Nevadan—has introduced legislation called the “No Budget, No Pay Act” (S.1981). If they miss their deadline, no pay is rewarded retroactively.

“President Obama’s budget suffered a second embarrassing defeat Wednesday, when senators voted 99-0 to reject it.

“Coupled with the House’s rejection in March, 414-0, that means Mr. Obama’s budget has failed to win a single vote in support this year.

“Republicans forced the vote by offering the president’s plan on the Senate floor.

“Democrats disputed that it was actually the president’s plan, arguing that the slim amendment didn’t actually match Mr. Obama’s budget document, which ran thousands of pages. But Republicans said they used all of the president’s numbers in the proposal, so it faithfully represented his plan.

“Sen. Jeff Sessions, Alabama Republican, even challenged Democrats to point out any errors in the numbers and he would correct them — a challenge no Democrats took up.”

As I’m sure you know, the Washington Post Newspaper has always had a reputation for being extremely liberal, so the fact that their Editor saw fit to print the following article about Obama in their newspaper makes this a truly amazing event and a news story in and of itself. Finally, the truth about our radical President’s agenda is starting to trickle through the ‘protective walls’ built by our liberal media.

Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and disturbing phenomenon, the result of a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages.

How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world’s largest economy, direct the world’s most powerful military, execute the world’s most consequential job? Imagine a future historian examining Obama’s pre-presidential life: ushered into and through the Ivy League despite unremarkable grades and test scores along the way; a cushy non-job as a “community organizer”; a brief career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in fact nearly devoid of his attention, so often did he vote “present”) ; and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate, the entirety of which was devoted to his presidential ambitions.

He left no academic legacy in academia, authored no signature legislation as a legislator. And then there is the matter of his troubling associations: the white-hating, America-loathing preacher who for decades served as Obama’s “spiritual mentor”; a real-life, actual terrorist who served as Obama’s colleague and political sponsor. It is easy to imagine a future historian looking at it all and asking: how on Earth was such a man elected president?

Not content to wait for history, the incomparable Norman Podhoretz addressed the question recently in the Wall Street Journal: To be sure, no white candidate who had close associations with an outspoken hater of America like Jeremiah Wright and an unrepentant terrorist like Bill Ayers, would have lasted a single day. But because Mr. Obama was black, and therefore entitled in the eyes of liberaldom to have hung out with protesters against various American injustices, even if they were a bit extreme, he was given a pass. Let that sink in: Obama was given a pass – held to a lower standard – because of the color of his skin.

Podhoretz continues: And in any case, what did such ancient history matter when he was also so articulate and elegant and (as he himself had said) “non-threatening,” all of which gave him a fighting chance to become the first black president and thereby to lay the curse of racism to rest? Podhoretz puts his finger, I think, on the animating pulse of the Obama phenomenon -affirmative action. Not in the legal sense, of course. But certainly in the motivating sentiment behind all affirmative action laws and regulations, which are designed primarily to make white people, and especially white liberals, feel good about themselves.

Unfortunately, minorities often suffer so that whites can pat themselves on the back. Liberals routinely admit minorities to schools for which they are not qualified, yet take no responsibility for the inevitable poor performance and high drop-out rates which follow. Liberals don’t care if these minority students fail; liberals aren’t around to witness the emotional devastation and deflated self esteem resulting from the racist policy that is affirmative action. Yes, racist. Holding someone to a separate standard merely because of the color of his skin – that’s affirmative action in a nutshell, and if that isn’t racism, then nothing is.

And that is what America did to Obama. True, Obama himself was never troubled by his lack of achievements, but why would he be? As many have noted, Obama was told he was good enough for Columbia despite undistinguished grades at Occidental; he was told he was good enough for the US Senate despite a mediocre record in Illinois; he was told he was good enough to be president despite no record at all in the Senate. All his life, every step of the way, Obama was told he was good enough for the next step, in spite of ample evidence to the contrary.

What could this breed if not the sort of empty narcissism on display every time Obama speaks? In 2008, many who agreed that he lacked executive qualifications nonetheless raved about Obama’s oratory skills, intellect, and cool character. Those people – conservatives included – ought now to be deeply embarrassed.

The man thinks and speaks in the hoariest of cliches, and that’s when he has his teleprompter in front of him; when the prompter is absent he can barely think or speak at all.

Not one original idea has ever issued from his mouth – it’s all warmed-over Marxism of the kind that has failed over and over again for 100 years.

And what about his character? Obama is constantly blaming anything and everything else for his troubles. Bush did it; it was bad luck; I inherited this mess. It is embarrassing to see a president so willing to advertise his own powerlessness, so comfortable with his own incompetence.

But really, what were we to expect? The man has never been responsible for anything, so how do we expect him to act responsibly?

In short: our president is a small and small-minded man, with neither the temperament nor the intellect to handle his job.

When you understand that, and only when you understand that, will the current erosion of liberty and prosperity make sense. It could not have gone otherwise with such a man in the Oval Office.

Obama Budget Doubles Student Loan Rate After Re-election

College students are being played for suckers by the Democratic Party again. Barack Obama’s 2013 budget indicates that the interest rate on federally backed student loans student loan will jump from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent in the summer of 2013. This comes as Obama is preaching his love for college students on campuses by virtue of his agreeing with the Republicans to limit the rate to 3.4 percent. The doubling of the rate will only occur eight months after Obama’s reelection can be attained.

Last week, the Washington Post produced a front-page story intended to shock readers with the news of Mitt Romney’s leading fellow preppies in cutting the bleach-blond hair of a student at their school. The incident in question took place in 1965, some 47 years ago. The news that Mitt Romney did dumb things in high school was played as if it was most revealing. But, unconnected to anything else, it leaves the reader puzzled? Why this story? Why now?

Liberal commentators are quick to respond: It’s all part of the “narrative” (their favorite word, by the way). And the “narrative” is of an unfeeling, bullying, brash young man.

Okay. Let’s say it’s relevant (which it’s really not!). Here are some of the stories the Post did not think relevant (which really are!)

Item: Bill Clinton as a graduate student at Oxford University spent a week in the home of Bedrich and Jirina Kopold in Prague. Early in 1970, Clinton was the guest of two members of the Czech Communist Party Central Committee. These were not even “liberal” reform-minded Czech backers of ousted leader Anton Dubcek. That father of the “Prague Spring” of 1968 had tried to bring about “Communism with a human face.” …

Item: John Kerry was a leader of the anti-war faction in the U.S. He testified in 1971 before Sen. J. William Fulbright’s Foreign Relations Committee, wearing half of his uniform, and all of his medals. Kerry charged his fellow soldiers with war crimes and said they violated the Geneva Conventions. This was after he met with North Vietnamese Communist in 1970 in Paris. …

Item: In April 1983, Columbia student Barack Obama attended the Socialist Scholars Conference in New York City. His presence there is documented. He admits as much in Dreams from My Father. The scholars at the conference were all Marxists and the meeting was held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Marx’s death. …

For most of the time after World War II, such associations would have prevented Clinton, Kerry, and Obama from receiving a security clearance to see classified documents. The fact is now that national security safeguards are being compromised daily. These are not just WikiLeaks. The identification of SEAL TEAM 6, the disclosure by President Obama of the number of U.S. atomic weapons (5,113), and the most recent leaks about how we infiltrated Al Qaeda on the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) are examples of a serious breakdown in safeguarding national security.

None of these background stories on Clinton, Kerry, or Obama was splashed across the front page of the Washington Post.

On Saturday, Mitt Romney delivered a speech to the 6,000 Liberty College graduates.

It was an important speech, not only because it seems to have closed the gap between Romney and evangelical Christians but also because it spelled out major themes in Mitt Romney’s understanding of America.

Romney: “You know who you are. And you know whom you will serve. Not all colleges instill that kind of confidence . . . .”

This is a truism. Most American universities seek to graduate men and women who are as committed to secularism as nearly all the members of faculty are. In contrast, at traditional Christian and Jewish schools, the aim is, as Romney said, to produce students who know “whom [they] will serve.”

What Romney is asking is this: If one is not morally accountable to God, to whom or what is one morally accountable? Most universities will respond: to one’s conscience. But those who adhere to Judeo-Christian values do not trust the conscience alone. What Nazi or Communist mass murderer was not at peace with his conscience? The conscience is as easily manipulated as the heart (the heart being the other guide to behavior among most college graduates).

Romney: “Moral certainty, clear standards, and a commitment to spiritual ideals will set you apart in a world that searches for meaning.”

The death of God has not only led to moral uncertainty; the secular left actually boasts of its moral uncertainty. Unlike the religious, who have a black and white view of moral issues (so the left tells us), those on the left struggle with moral complexity. But this is self-delusion. The left is as morally certain about its positions as the most fundamentalist Christian. Where is the left’s moral uncertainty about same-sex marriage? About abolishing capital punishment? About race-based affirmative action? About higher taxes? Indeed, about anything the left believes in?

Romney: “That said, your values will not always be the object of public admiration. In fact, the more you live by your beliefs, the more you will endure the censure of the world.”

Is that ever true. Those of us who adhere to Judeo-Christian values and live a religious life are mocked as fools when not dismissed as dangerous. If you believe that nature was designed by a Creator, you are regarded as an anti-science buffoon. If you get your values from the Bible, you are considered a living anachronism.

(CNSNews.com) – Speaking Saturday night at an event sponsored by the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky expressed surprise that President Barack Obama would say that his support for same-sex marriage was rooted in the Bible.

“What version of the Bible is he reading?” Paul said.

““The president recently weighed in on marriage,” Paul told the crowd at the Point of Grace Church in Waukee, Iowa. “And, you know, he said his views were evolving on marriage. Call me cynical but I wasn’t sure that his views on marriage could get any gayer. Now it did kind of bother me, though, that he used the justification for it in a biblical reference. He said the biblical Golden Rule caused him to be for gay marriage.

“And I’m like: What version of the Bible is he reading?” said Paul. “It’s not the King James version. It’s not the New American Standard. It’s not the New Revised version. I don’t know what version he is getting it from.

“Now that doesn’t mean we have to be harsh and mean and hate people,” said Paul. “We understand sin and if we believe it’s sin we still understand that people sin. And we understand that we are not out there preaching some sort of hateful dogma against people. But that doesn’t mean that we have to go ahead and give up our traditions. We’ve got 6,000 years of tradition. There’s a lot of stability, even beyond religion, there’s stability in the family unit. Just from an anthropological point of view, the family is really important thing. We shouldn’t just give up on it.”

AP: World disappointed in Fauxbama Presidency

The European entitlement crowd is disappointed because Fauxbama didn’t do more to help them? I wonder why.

Remember President John Kennedy- “Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for it.” The idea of creating value has been lost on two generations of world population because of politicians selling votes for entitlements and creating a socialist welfare state. I don’t care for Fauxbama, but anyone who says he didn’t do enough for them needs to be slapped across the face. People need to do for themselves and make the excess available for sale or sharing.

Obama’s rock-star-like reception at Berlin’s Victory Column in the summer of 2008 was a high point of a wildly successful European campaign tour. The thawing of a harsh anti-Americanism that had thrived in Europe was as much a reaction to the Bush years as it was an embrace of the presidential hopeful.

Those high European expectations have turned into disappointment, largely because of the continued U.S. military presence in Iraq and Afghanistan and Obama’s failure to close Guantanamo Bay in the face of vehement congressional opposition.

Foreign policy expert Josef Braml, who analyzes the U.S. for the German Council on Foreign Relations, said many Germans give Obama too much of the blame because they don’t understand the limits of his powers.

President Obama’s Luxurious Schedule

On May 7, a quote asserting Mitt Romney has “the luxury of an open schedule” allowing him to “spend every waking hour as a full-time candidate,” while President Obama “is required to do his day job.”
It was even funnier if one looked at President Obama’s May 7 schedule. Here was his schedule that day, in its entirety, with all events taking place in the Oval Office:

10:00 a.m. The President receives the Presidential Daily Briefing.
11:00 a.m. The President meets with senior advisors.
2:30 p.m. The President holds a conference call with elected officials and student government leaders from across the country to discuss the need to prevent rates from doubling on July 1.

Obama is fortunate he didn’t serve as president during the Bush administration, when the Presidential Daily Briefing was generally given around 7 a.m. to a president who typically arrived at 6:45 a.m. to the Oval Office. According to the daily schedules posted on the White House website, President Obama’s official day usually starts at 10 a.m. with his daily briefing.
Compare President Obama’s May 7 schedule with President Bush’s day on May 7, 2008: on that day he (1) issued an Executive Order on prohibitions of exports to Syria, (2) sent Congress an agreement with the Czech Republic, (3) signed bills designating various Post Office facilities in honor of U.S. soldiers, (4) signed the “Ensuring Continued Access to Student Loans Act of 2008,” (5) held a press conference urging Congress to “allow for the construction of refinery and for environmentally friendly domestic exploration” and give the Colombia free trade agreement an up-or-down vote, and (6) addressed the Council of the Americas, with a lengthy speech that in passing recounted his conversation the prior day with three Cuban dissidents, which exemplified his Freedom Agenda:

Video-conferencing is one of the great wonders of the 21st century, and to be able to sit in the White House and talk to these three brave souls in Havana was a inspiring moment for me … It also reminded me of a couple of things: One, that there’s an eternal truth when it comes to freedom, that there is an Almighty, and a gift of that Almighty to every man, woman and child, whether they be American, Cubano, or anywhere else, is freedom.
… The Cuban government recently announced a change at the top. Some in the world marveled that perhaps change is on its way. That’s not how I view it. Until there’s a change of … how the Cuban government treats its people, there’s no change at all. … Cuba will not be a land of liberty so long as free expression is punished and free speech can take place only in hushed whispers and silent prayers. And Cuba will not become a place of prosperity just by easing restrictions on the sale of products that the average Cuban cannot afford.

Perhaps May 7, 2008 is not a fair comparison, since Bush was not running for re-election that year. Let’s look at his schedule for May 7, 2004. On that day, he was campaigning in Wisconsin, making remarks to people in Lancaster about the improving economy:

We got some good news today. They added — we added 288,000 new jobs last month. That’s a good sign. (Applause.) Part of it has to do with making sure you get to keep more of your own money. That stimulus plan is working.

That afternoon he held a lengthy “Ask President Bush” event in Prairie Du Chien, and recounted how the country had overcome a lot:

This country, in a very brief period of time, overcame the stock market decline, starting in March of 2000 … Starting in early 2001, we went through a recession … And then, just as we were coming out of that recession, the enemy hit us. … It affected our economy … We overcame that.
… I’d like to take a little credit for the pro-growth that’s happening today because of the tax cuts. See, I believe that when you give people more of their own money — and notice I said, more of their own money — it’s not the government money we’re passing back, it’s the people’s money we take in the first place … when you’ve got more money in your pocket, you’re likely to demand an additional good or a service. And when you demand an additional good or a service in our marketplace-type economy, somebody will produce it. And when somebody produces the good or a service, somebody is more likely to keep a job or find work. That’s just the way it works.
The tax cuts were important economic policy…We’ve been counting the number of new promises the fellow I’m running against is making. He’s up to $1.9 trillion so far … So the question is, how is he going to pay for it? … [H]is answer, of course, is taxing rich people. But the problem is there’s not enough tax revenue to be generated to pay for $1.9 trillion worth of new spending by taxing rich people.

Eight years later, the Bush tax cuts — a 10% across-the-board cut in tax rates for virtually every taxpayer, currently rebranded by President Obama as tax cuts for “millionaires and billionaires” — will likely be a central issue in the campaign, as will President Obama’s different kind of stimulus program that he initiated in 2009 along with his call for repeal of the Bush tax cuts for the M&Bs (which would raise only a relatively small amount of money, but would assertedly be “fair”).
Which is the better stimulus program — allowing people to keep more of their money to spend, save, or invest; or transferring more money to be spent, redistributed, or invested by the political class? Are taxes too low or government spending too high? Should taxes be raised, reformed, or reduced? These questions, which go to the heart of the role of government and its relationship to citizens, are likely to be at the heart of the coming political debate.
As he seeks to address these issues, President Obama’s day job is not likely to interfere with his ability to campaign. On May 7, after receiving his daily briefing and meeting with his political and press people (aka “senior advisers”), he held what was effectively a campaign event — right from the Oval Office. You can tell the conference call to the student government leaders was a political discussion, not a policy one, because the call was marked “closed to press” (reminiscent of the time he made a closed conference call to a thousand rabbis to urge them to push ObamaCare in their High Holiday sermons).
Call it the luxury of a day job with a closed schedule — where you can campaign right from your desk, while your opponent is stuck with an open schedule.

An Occupier gets an education

The following 15 minute video from the Media Research Center is both highly entertaining and a peek inside the mind of a young man, barely out of childhood, who has been subjected to liberal brianinwashing, with no access to facts that do not fit the left’s agenda. In the video, he encounters an unnamed man who engages him in a detailed and spirited conversation. The manchild has his eyes opened, expresses amazement at the information he learns, and in the end expresses thanks for “converting” him to pro-USA, pro-caopitalism, and pro-Israel positions.

I rarely recommend videos this long, but it is worthwhile, though it starts a little slowly. I know that I would like to shake the hand of the man who made this video.
