This evening, vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) took on Vice President Joe Biden in a wide-ranging debate covering everything from Libya and Iran to the economy. Biden’s demeanor was the story of the evening: smirking, laughing, snorting, shaking his head. The strategy seems to have been to laugh off America’s problems, since the Obama administration has done nothing to solve them.

Masked gunmen have attacked and killed a security official at the U.S. embassy in Sanaa, Yemen, Reuters reported early this morning. The official, Qassem Aqlan, was a Yemeni who led a security team at the U.S. diplomatic mission. He was attacked in his car by assassins on a motorcycle in the city center.

The attack came just hours after Americans began to learn the full extent of security failures at U.S. diplomatic missions in Libya prior to the deadly terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi last month.

Officials on the ground had asked the State Department for increased security, but their requests were denied or ignored by a bureaucracy that still insists it had the correct number of “assets” in place.

This includes Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin. Romney has not been in the lead in this poll since Sept. 19. Bewildered and lost without his teleprompter, President Obama flailed all around the debate stage last night. He was stuttering, nervous and petulant. It was like he had been called in front of the principal after goofing around for four years and blowing off all his homework.

Not since Jimmy Carter faced Ronald Reagan has the U.S. presidency been so embarrassingly represented in public. Actually, that’s an insult to Jimmy Carter.

The split screen was most devastating. Mitt Romney spoke forthrightly, with carefully studied facts and details at the ready. He looked right at the president and accused him of being miles out of his depth.

Mr. Obama? His eyes were glued to his lectern, looking guilty and angry and impatient with all the vagaries of democracy. This debate was seriously chafing him.

What exactly was Mr. Obama’s strategy here? Did he figure with so many people unemployed in this abomination of an economy he should go for the sympathy vote? Like voters could relate to a guy who is just scared pantsless that he is about to lose his job?

In the middle of the bloodletting segment about jobs, Mr. Romney said good-naturedly: “This is fun.”

Almost pleading, Mr. Obama reached out to the moderator for a lifeline: “You may want to move onto another topic.”

When an unexpected noise went off behind him, Mr. Obama wheeled around to look as if to ask, “Time to go?”

Hopefully.

Turns out, it was the first honest thing we have heard from Mr. Obama’s campaign: The president really was absolutely terrible on the debate stage.

Maybe the next debate will be on something other than the economy that won’t be so bad for Mr. Obama.

Perhaps they could hold a debate on street organizing.

Who knew anyone on the planet could make Mitt Romney look easy, relaxed, smooth and human?

But Mr. Romney was absolutely on fire Wednesday night. He had command of countless specifics from voters and business owners from all across country.

He explained complex issues clearly, concisely and with good humor. He was not angry. But he was direct and pointed.

“I’ve been in business for 25 years. I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Mr. Romney said in the most devastating understatement of the night. “I maybe need to get a new accountant.”

Like a prosecutor in court, Mr. Romney went after Mr. Obama’s record and eviscerated him about the terrible economy and Mr. Obama’s belief in “trickle-down government.”

Mr. Romney also came off as genuine by looking Mr. Obama in the eye with every criticism. He also looked moderator Jim Lehrer in the eye when he told him that if he became president he would cut funding to public broadcasting, possibly eliminating his job.

Mr. Obama weakly offered Mr. Lehrer: “You’ve done a great job.”

OK, that’s one vote for Mr. Obama in the sympathy strategy. Just 55 million votes to go.

Obama was rambling, fumbling, stuttering. He was terrible. This was a great night for freedom-lovers. If sixty million Americans were watching, freedom has a shot at resuscitation. Even Obama’s own camp was crestfallen. Bill Maher tweeted: “Obama made a lot of great points tonight. Unfortunately, most of them were for Romney.” And: “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Obama looks like he DOES need a teleprompter.” Maher is noticing only now? Andrew Sullivan tweeted in dismay: “This is a rolling calamity for Obama.”

But is Obama worried? Not for a second. He doesn’t care. Because that’s not his job. Obama is merely the pretty face for the über-left monster. Let’s face it: Obama is merely a figurehead. A happy face for the anti-American, anti-individual, anti-capitalist revolution. He’s a movie star, nothing more. He’s an impressive façade with nothing behind it, like a Hollywood set. But the American people should be concerned about his puppet masters: Reverend Wright, George Soros, Bill Ayers, and a cabal of Islamic supremacist Muslim Brotherhood operatives. That’s who’s running the country.

The teacher told high schooler Samantha Pawlucy to “get out of this class” and pointed to the door when she entered the room, then tried to mark the shirt with a red marker.

Pawlucy’s parents have called for the teacher, who reportedly compared the student’s choice of dress to KKK attire, to be fired immediately.

“This is Philadelphia, the birthplace of freedom and things like that, but we have schools that want to take away her freedom,” the girl’s father said.

The school promptly relieved the math teacher from teaching the class and has promised an investigation.

Even before the Daily Caller released the video last night of President Obama’s 2007 speech before a majority black audience in Virginia, our corrupt media was already declaring it “old news.” Time’s Mark Halperin had a full-blown meltdown and BuzzFeed Politics’ Ben Smith declared the story over and dead hours before anyone had read it. What’s especially pathetic about Smith is that one of his site’s signatures is scouring the Internet for old videos and publishing them as … news!

Once the Daily Caller story did hit and it became clear that Tucker Carlson had found never-before-seen video of Obama in a way voters have never seen him, none of that mattered. The desperate narrative to protect Obama had already been set and as though the rest of us were insane, the corrupt media doubled down in its efforts to tell those of us who had never seen this video that we had.

Of course, it’s all lies; blatant lies meant to control the explosion of an explosive story — meant to justify why the very same media still obsessed over Romney’s “47 percent” moment will now downplay and ignore as a nothingburger Obama caught on video spewing racialist division and the kind of wild conspiracy theories a sitting U.S. Senator had to know weren’t true.

But New Media is The Media, and this video will get disseminated and voters will see it. And like Romney’s “47 percent” moment, this new Obama video is a legitimate news story worth covering.

Here are ten reasons why…

1. The video released by the Daily Caller last night does include footage the media never broadcast or reported on.

Furthermore, we’re supposed to believe it’s just a coincidence that the footage the media ignored just happens to be the most controversial part where Barack Obama (who at the time was running to be the Democratic nominee for president) goes off-script and tells a majority black audience that the federal government doesn’t care about Hurricane Katrina victims because they’re black.

Even Politico’s mainstream media water-carrier Dylan Byers had to admit this is the case:

But the full footage of the speech included previously unreported remarks in which Sen. Obama suggested that the federal government helped victims of 9/11 and Hurricane Andrew (in Florida), but did not help the victims of Hurricane Katrina because it didn’t care about them as much.

By any measure, new video of a sitting president sewing seeds of racial division is not only news, but big news.

If this were Allen West giving the exact same speech, you better believe it would be everywhere. And he’s only a congressman.

2. Now we know the media and the Obama campaign “selectively edited” the video in 2007 in order to cover up Obama’s divisive racial rhetoric.

That’s most certainly news.

3. Past is prologue. Always.

Obama’s attacks on the suburbs and the “us vs. them” rhetoric that toxifies the entire speech helps make sense of his divisive presidency and campaign. Moreover, the speech that made Obama a national star was his 2004 address at the Democratic Convention where he was famously unifying and post-racial. That was his “no red states, no blue states” speech.

Now we know the 2004 speech was bull shit.

That’s news.

4. Obama grew up in Hawaii and Chicago, so where in the world does that hilariously fake southern accent come from?

Like a lot of politicians, depending on the audience he’s with, this president can be a huge phony.

I’m a news and political junkie and never once have I heard him speak with this pronounced of a southern accent. So…

That’s news to me and probably to a lot of people.

5. In order to stoke racial division and resentment, Obama lied to his audience.

The then-U.S. Senator tells the audience that the federal government waived the Stafford Act for New York after 9/11 and for Florida after Hurricane Andrew, but not for New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

That was a lie:

[T]he federal government did at times waive the Stafford Act during its reconstruction efforts. On May 25, 2007, just weeks before the speech, the Bush administration sent an additional $6.9 billion to Katrina-affected areas with no strings attached.

As a sitting United States Senator, Obama must have been aware of this. And yet he spent 36 minutes at the pulpit telling a mostly black audience that the U.S. government doesn’t like them because they’re black.

Which leads me to…

6. Obama is prone to believing and spreading dishonest and wildly false conspiracy theories.

You know, .

That’s news.

7. At the 19:20 mark we learn that the Christian Obama doesn’t know the Lord’s Prayer.

That’s news.

8. Obama’s “us vs. them” rhetoric and beliefs extends to his governance.

At the 28:50 mark, Obama talks extensively about the importance of minority-owned businesses and supporting your own. He then proposes using the Small Business Administration specifically to aid minorities.

That’s news.

9. At the 20:10 mark, Obama laments the social injustice that created 37 million Americans living in poverty and pledges to fight that injustice as president.

After four years of Obamanomics, we now have 10 million more Americans living in poverty.

That’s news.

10. When Obama gave this speech the Reverend Wright scandal had yet to break.

This means that the scant, incomplete, and “selectively edited” coverage the speech received at the time wouldn’t have thought much of the full minute Obama spends gushing over his mentor and pastor in his opening remarks.

Knowing what we know now makes this, yes, news.

The corrupt media knows this newly released footage is news. They just don’t want voters to see Obama for what he is: a phony, divisive, racial demagogue and grievance-monger ready to spread lies, conspiracy theories, and animosity in order to get what he wants.

Oh, I almost forgot…

11. We know it’s news because the corrupt media is telling us there’s nothing to see here even as they kill themselves to blow it back on Romney and ensure as few people as possible see it.

“The people down in New Orleans they don’t care about as much!” Obama shouts in the video, which was shot in June of 2007 at Hampton University in Virginia. By contrast, survivors of Sept. 11 and Hurricane Andrew received generous amounts of aid, Obama explains. The reason? Unlike residents of majority-black New Orleans, the federal government considers those victims “part of the American family.”

The racially charged and at times angry speech undermines Obama’s carefully-crafted image as a leader eager to build bridges between ethnic groups. For nearly 40 minutes, using an accent he almost never adopts in public, Obama describes a racist, zero-sum society, in which the white majority profits by exploiting black America. The mostly black audience shouts in agreement. The effect is closer to an Al Sharpton rally than a conventional campaign event.

Obama gave the speech in the middle of a hotly-contested presidential primary season, but his remarks escaped scrutiny. Reporters in the room seem to have missed or ignored his most controversial statements. The liberal blogger Andrew Sullivan linked to what he described as a “transcript” of the speech, which turned out not to be a transcript at all, but instead the prepared remarks provided by the campaign. In fact, Obama, who was not using a teleprompter, deviated from his script repeatedly and at length, ad libbing lines that he does not appear to have used before any other audience during his presidential run. A local newspaper posted a series of video clips of the speech, but left out key portions. No complete video of the Hampton speech was widely released.

Obama begins his address with “a special shout out” to Jeremiah Wright, the Chicago pastor who nearly derailed Obama’s campaign months later when his sermons attacking Israel and America and accusing the U.S. government of “inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color” became public. To the audience at Hampton, Obama describes Wright as, “my pastor, the guy who puts up with me, counsels me, listens to my wife complain about me. He’s a friend and a great leader. Not just in Chicago, but all across the country.”

By the time Obama appeared at Hampton, Jeremiah Wright had become a political problem. Wright told The New York Times earlier that year that he would no longer be speaking on the campaign’s behalf because his rhetoric was considered too militant. And yet later in the Hampton speech Obama explicitly defends Wright from unnamed critics, a group he describes as “they”: “They had stories about Trinity United Church of Christ, because we talked about black people in church: ‘Oh, that might be a separatist church,’” Obama said mockingly.

“This is deadly earnest, man. This is deadly earnest,” the vice president said. “How they can justify, how they can justify raising taxes on the middle class that has been buried the last four years — how in Lord’s name can they justify raising their taxes with these tax cuts.”

Understandably, the Obama Administration was panicked by this. The notices would hit in the last month of his reelection campaign and have a huge impact in the critical swing state of Virginia, home to hoards of defense contractors. What to do? Simple. Ignore the law.

Yesterday, Lockheed Martin, a massive contractor, announced it had reached a “deal” with the White House and would not send out the legally required layoff notices. The Obama Administration had “interpreted” the law and found it would be “inappropriate” to send out the layoff notices.

More amazingly, the White House promised to pay any fines or penalties that might be leveled against the company for violating federal law. Read that again……

The case of Khadr — Guantánamo’s last Western captive — stirred debate in international law and human rights circles.

Because he was captured at such a young age, some called him a child soldier who was dropped off in the war zone by his father and deserving of rehabilitation not interrogation. Others called him the respected scion of an al Qaida family, nicknamed Canada’s First Family of Terror in news reports, and opposed his repatriation.

Psychiatrist Michael Welner, testifying at the Guantánamo war court for the prosecution and paid by the Pentagon, called Khadr a continuing danger who spent his time at the U.S. prison camps in Cuba “marinating in a community of hardened and belligerent radical Islamists.”
