The city is claiming that property values have actually shot up for many homes in Manhattan Beach and it’s going ahead with hefty tax hikes for the houses devastated by the October superstorm, shocked property owners told The Post.
Homeowners in other neighborhoods hit by Sandy, including Coney Island, the Rockaways and parts of Staten Island, also said they’ve received increases.
“This is totally insensitive and heartless,” said Ira Zalcman, president of the Manhattan Beach Community Group, which has received more than 30 complaints from residents about the hikes.
Paul Martinka
“We just sustained one of the worst national disasters in our nation’s history, and now the city is delusional, claiming our property values went up.”
Zalcman said that since Sandy, he has spent roughly $100,000 repairing the basement of his Dover Street oceanfront home, for which he pays more than $7,000 a year in property taxes.
He estimates his tax bill will go up nearly $200 for the fiscal year beginning July 1 because the city claims his property’s market value rose by $79,000 to slightly more than $2 million, increasing the home’s assessed value for tax purposes. He claims he’d be lucky to get $1.5 million.
Meanwhile, other owners facing tax hikes say their homes are so badly damaged, they have yet to complete repairs and move back.
One oceanfront home, at 295 Dover St., still had its windows and doors boarded up yesterday. But the city says its market value has jumped $473,000 the past year to $3.1 million.
The owner, Olga Belenkaya, has yet to return because the home was so badly damaged by Sandy, neighbors said. Belenkaya did not return messages left on her cellphone.
Councilman Michael Nelson (D-Brooklyn), whose district includes hard-hit Manhattan Beach, Sheepshead Bay and Brighton Beach — called the tax hikes “heartless” and “something the city must immediately remedy.”
“Common sense dictates their property values have fallen, if not plummeted in some cases,” he said.
Stephen “Butch” Moran, vice chairman of Community Board 13, said he’s “shocked” his taxes are going up for one of the homes he owns in Sheepshead Bay and Seagate, where Sandy left him with $300,000 worth of combined repairs.
“How do you increase taxes for people who no longer have 100 percent of their homes remaining?” he said.

“It is not enough to allow federal employees to make up lost ground from two-plus years of frozen pay. It is not enough to allow workers, most of whom earn very modest salaries ranging from $24,000 to $70,000, to maintain living standards. And it is not enough to send a message with any kind of clarity that the administration values the federal workforce and doesn’t believe it should continue to bear an enormously disproportionate share of deficit reduction,” David Cox Sr., the president of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), said in a statement.
The White House told labor leaders of the proposed increase in the 2014 fiscal year budget in a phone call late Friday night. That raise would come on top of the half-point pay hike, scheduled to take effect in late March, which has been delayed as part of the “fiscal cliff” deal struck last month. Federal salaries have been frozen since 2011.
“NOMINEES FROM LOW PLACES”
(music by Garth Brooks)
Blame it all on my roots,
I showed up to loot..
And to make ya’ll pay yer fair share….
Mitt was the last one to know,
Sandra Fluke stole the show..
I was the last one you thought after November you’d see here….
With my czars ya’ll were surprised,
With Hagel, there was fear in your eyes..
And bad guys toasted him with champagne..
But I pushed him through..
Same with my boy Jack Lew….
Don’t even bother to complain 🙂 ……..
CHORUS:
‘Cause I got Nominees From Low Places..
Their records are profound, failure and disgraces 😦
I don’t care if Congress ain’t away…..
My recess appointments are OK…..
Yeah I’m not big on sharin’ information..
Think I’ll slip on out of these confirmations..
Oh, I’ve got Nominees…
From Low Places…..
GEEETAR! 🙂
Well I guess Rice was wrong,
The ‘video’ excuse didn’t last long 😦
But that’s what election cover-ups are for…
Kerry’s alright,
He’ll get in without a fight..
& I finally get Hillary & Bill out the door 🙂
Hey, I didn’t mean,
For Brennan to cause a big scene..
Just no Benghazi, ask only ’bout bin Laden..
Well drones’ll get us by, don’t need much military power..
& ’bout Jihad don’t get him talkin’!…..
‘Cause I got Nominees From Low Places..
Their records are profound, failure and disgraces 😦
I don’t care if Congress ain’t away…..
My recess appointments are OK…..
Hell I’m not big on sharin’ information..
Think I’ll slip on out of these confirmations..

REPEAT CHORUS endlessly with entire Democrat Party joining in …………..
Dr. Ben Carson thrilled the nation with his plain talk about political correctness, tax reform, and health insurance at the National Prayer Breakfast on Feb. 7. President Barack Obama, seated a few feet away, did not seem impressed–and neither were Democrats such as Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), who slammed Dr. Carson’s remarks as “not appropriate” on CNN’s State of the Union with donut-eating Candy Crowley Sunday morning.
Schakowsky accused Carson of using political correctness, rather than fighting it: “Well, I think that there’s a political correctness that he was trying to use to appeal to a conservative audience,” she said, shaking her head. She went on to criticize Carson for making a “political speech” in front of Obama and in a specifically religious context.
I think it’s really–not really an appropriate place to make this kind of political speech, and to invoke God as support for that kind of view. But I think of most of all the kind of message that he was giving shows a real empathy gap with where the American people are right now, and I think it’s reflective of where many of the Republicans and Tea Parties are right now, that we need to have an economy that works for everyone.
In his address, Carson had specifically avoided taking a partisan point of view, noting that the American bald eagle needed both a “right wing” and a “left wing” to take flight.

At issue is an employee investment fund based in the Cayman Islands that Lew bought into during his time working at Citigroup before entering the Obama administration. In a release Friday, Grassley argued it was hypocritical of Obama to have nominated a candidate with such an offshore investment despite having railed against tax avoidance schemes based in the Caymans.
“President Obama has been almost obsessively critical of offshore investments,” Grassley said. “He called Ugland House ‘either the biggest building or the biggest tax scam on record.’ ”
The Ugland House is a building in the Cayman Islands that serves as the legal address for thousands of corporations seeking favorable tax breaks. In a 2009 speech, Obama called the use of the adders “the kind of tax scam that we need to end.”
“For years, we’ve talked about shutting down overseas tax havens that let companies set up operations to avoid paying taxes in America,” Obama said.
The Obama campaign also railed against Mitt Romney’s offshore holdings during the presidential campaign, cutting advertisements that mocked the Republican nominee for a Swiss bank account and holdings in the Caymans and Bermuda.
New Audio Surfaces of Obama Defending Infanticide in IllinoisIn 2003, then-State-Senator Barack Obama was the only member of the Illinois legislature to oppose a bill to provide medical care for newborns who survived failed late-term abortions. A similar bill passed in the U.S. Congress with only 15 votes against it (out of 535). Read and listen to Senator Obama defending his barbaric position that live-born babies should simply be set aside, uncared for, and to die. Who is the extremist? What kind of human being thinks this way? www.lifenews.com/2012/08/23/new-audio-surfaces-of-obama-defending-infanticide-in-illinois |
| Dr. Carson is an extraordinary person and our country is well served by his presence here. It is well worth your time to watch the video. Check Emperor Obama’s body language. I have seen him with that angry rigid jaw before, but his reactions to Dr. Carson take the cake. It is all he can do to sit there and endure Dr. Carson’s wise words, including: “What do lawyers do? Lawyers want to win by hook or by crook. We need to get rid of that. We need to ask, ‘How do we solve the problem?” In the presence of the great Dr. Carson, Obama is exposed as the loser he really is.

As the sequester cuts Obama signed into law in August 2011 draw closer to implementation, the Navy is making plans to ground the Blue Angels during the latter half of 2013. This was revealed by Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan Greenert last week, when he sent out a memo showing the Navy’s plan for complying with the cuts. |

SEN. GRAHAM: Your testimony, as I understand it, Secretary Panetta, that you talked to the president of the United States one time.
SEC. PANETTA: I talked to him on Sept. 11 with regards to the fact that we were aware this attack was taking place.
SEN. GRAHAM: One time.
SEC. PANETTA: Right.
SEN. GRAHAM: What time did you tell him that?
SEC. PANETTA: I think that was approximately about 5 o’clock?
GEN. DEMPSEY: Yeah, about 5 o’clock.
SEC. PANETTA: About 5 o’clock.
SEN. GRAHAM: General Dempsey, did you ever talk to the president of the United States at all?
GEN. DEMPSEY: I was with the secretary when — at that same time.
SEN. GRAHAM: Did you talk to the president?
GEN. DEMPSEY: Yes.
SEN. GRAHAM: You talked to him how many times.
GEN. DEMPSEY: The same — one time.
SEN. GRAHAM: How long did the conversation last?
GEN. DEMPSEY: We were there in the office for probably 30 minutes.
SEN. GRAHAM: So you talked to him for 30 minutes, one time, and you never talked to him again, either one of you.
GEN. DEMPSEY: Until afterwards.
SEN. GRAHAM: Until after the attack was over.
GEN. DEMPSEY: That’s right.
SEN. GRAHAM: Thank you.
Were there any AC-130 gunships within a thousand miles of Benghazi, Libya?
GEN. DEMPSEY: No, sir.
SEN. GRAHAM: Were there any AC-130 gunships within 2,000 miles of Benghazi, Libya?
GEN. DEMPSEY: I have to go back and look at a map and figure out the distance.
SEN. GRAHAM: Are you surprised that the president of the United States never called you, Secretary Panetta, and say, ‘how’s it going?’
SEC. PANETTA: I — you know, normally in these situations –
SEN. GRAHAM: Did he know the level of threat that –
SEC. PANETTA: Let — well, let me finish the answer. We were deploying the forces. He knew we were deploying the forces. He was being kept updated –
SEN. GRAHAM: Well, I hate to interrupt you, but I got limited time. We didn’t deploy any forces. Did you call him back — wait a minute –
SEC. PANETTA: No, but the event — the event was over by the time we got –
SEN. GRAHAM: Mr. Secretary, you didn’t know how long the attack would last. Did you ever call him and say, Mr. President, it looks like we don’t have anything to get there anytime soon?
SEC. PANETTA: The event was over before we could move any assets.
SEN. GRAHAM: It lasted almost eight hours. And my question to you is during that eight-hour period, did the president show any curiosity about how’s this going, what kind of assets do you have helping these people? Did he ever make that phone call?
SEC. PANETTA: Look, there is no question in my mind that the president of the United States was concerned about American lives and, frankly, all of us were concerned about American lives.
SEN. GRAHAM: With all due respect, I don’t believe that’s a credible statement if he never called and asked you, are we helping these people; what’s happening to them? We have a second round, and we’ll take it up then.
SEC. PANETTA: As a former chief of staff to the president of the United States, the purpose of staff is to be able to get that kind of information, and those staff were working with us.
SEN. GRAHAM: So you think it’s a typical response of the president of the United States to make one phone call, do what you can and never call you back again and ask you, how’s it going, by the way, showing your frustration we don’t have any assets in there to help these people for over seven hours?
SEC. PANETTA: The president is well-informed about what is going on. Make no mistake about it.
SEN. GRAHAM: Well, that is interesting to hear
General Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the State Department never requested “support” in Benghazi:
“Why didn’t you put forces in place to be ready to respond?,” Senator John McCain asked the general.
Dempsey started, “Because we never received a request to do so, number one. And number two, we –”
McCain iterrupted, “You never heard of Ambassador Stevens’s repeated warnings?”
“I had, through General Ham,” responded Dempsey, referring to the commander of AFRICOM. “But we never received a request for support from the State Department, which would have allowed us to put forces–”
“So it’s the State Department’s fault?”
“I’m not blaming the State Department,” Dempsey responded.
No Word from Hillary During Benghazi Attack
Panetta, Dempsey did not speak to Clinton.
Neither the secretary of defense nor the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff spoke to the secretary of state during the 8-hour attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012. At a Thursday hearing in the Senate, Republican Ted Cruz asked both Leon Panetta and Martin Dempsey, “In between 9:42 p.m., Benghazi time, when the first attacks started, and 5:15 am, when Mr. Doherty and Mr. Woods lost their lives, what converations did either of you have with Secretary Clinton?”
“We did not have any conversations with Secretary Clinton,” Panetta responded.
“And General Dempsey, the same is true for you?” Cruz asked. Dempsey confirmed this. Watch the video below:
http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/no-word-hillary-during-benghazi-attack_700410.html
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta testified this morning on Capitol Hill that President Barack Obama was absent the night four Americans were murdered in Benghazi on September 11, 2012:
Panetta said, though he did meet with Obama at a 5 o’clock prescheduled gathering, the president left operational details, including knowledge of what resources were available to help the Americans under siege, “up to us.”
In fact, Panetta says that the night of 9/11, he did not communicate with a single person at the White House. The attack resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.
Obama did not call or communicate in anyway with the defense secretary that night. There were no calls about what was going on in Benghazi. He never called to check-in.
The 5 o’clock meeting was a pre-scheduled 30-minute session, where, according to Panetta’s recollection, they spent about 20 minutes talking a lot about the American embassy that was surrounded in Egypt and the situation that was just unfolding in Benghazi.
As Bill Kristol wrote in the month after the attack, “Panetta’s position is untenable: The Defense Department doesn’t get to unilaterally decide whether it’s too risky or not to try to rescue CIA operators, or to violate another country’s air space. In any case, it’s inconceivable Panetta didn’t raise the question of what to do when he met with the national security adviser and the president at 5 p.m. on the evening of September 11 for an hour. And it’s beyond inconceivable he didn’t then stay in touch with the White House after he returned to the Pentagon.”
Perhaps it was “inconceivable,” but it is according to Panetta exactly what happened.
But Obama did have time to make a political call to the Israeli prime minister. “[W]e do know one thing the president found time to do that evening: He placed a call to Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu in order to defuse a controversy about President Obama’s refusal to meet with Netanyahu two weeks later at the U.N. General Assembly, and, according to the White House announcement that evening, spent an hour on the phone with him,” Kristol wrote.
“While Americans were under assault in Benghazi, the president found time for a non-urgent, politically useful, hour-long call to Prime Minister Netanyahu. And his senior national security staff had to find time to arrange the call, brief the president for the call, monitor it, and provide an immediate read-out to the media. I suspect Prime Minister Netanyahu, of all people, would have understood the need to postpone or shorten the phone call if he were told that Americans were under attack as the president chatted. But for President Obama, a politically useful telephone call—and the ability to have his aides rush out and tell the media about that phone call—came first.”

What condition would this woman be in today if she did not have her gun? Dead?

(copied)
Louise Howard may be 86 years old, but she isn’t afraid to defend her home or her life.
On Friday afternoon she was forced to do that. Howard said a young woman broke the glass on her door and forced her way inside. “I was in shock. I didn’t know what she was going to do to me!” Howard said.
Howard immediately grabbed her gun, but the two started to struggle down the hall. “I already had my gun in my hand, and I wouldn’t turn it loose for anything,” she explained.
Howard’s hands are proof she wasn’t letting go. “She stuck a fingernail in there,” said Howard. “She moved her hands, sort of released me a bit. I moved over like that, and I was going to shoot her in the stomach, but she took her knee and hit my elbow.”
The bullet ended up inside the wall, where it remained after the struggle.
Sheriff Ronnie Lawson told us Howard was in her rights to use her gun for protection. “All indications [were] the intruder, the female, had a wrench. It was what she used to break the window of the door so she could’ve defended herself,” Sheriff Lawson explained.
Wow, a perfectly worded explanation of the challenge Boy Scouts of America faces from the deviant homosexual lobby. Pray for the Scouts, please!

(Doug Patton)
If, despite solid backing of the Scouts by the federal courts, the bullies in the homosexual lobby can intimidate members of the national BSA board into jettisoning long-held principles, imagine how mercilessly those “local chartered organizations” will be harassed without the covering of their national group.
In the life of every great nation, there are windows of opportunity for leadership on moral and cultural issues. America is no exception. We faced such a moral crisis a century and a half ago when attempts to sweep the burning issue of slavery under the rug left American soil soaked with our own blood.
Many in government and corporate America believe we need to compromise with evil. They believe in “tolerance” and “inclusion” on such issues as abortion and same-sex marriage. Obviously, they have no stomach for the political and cultural war that rages around them. And sadly, they are willing to watch as iconic institutions like the Boy Scouts of America are destroyed through social engineering.
An African American family sued Disneyland after the actor who portrayed the White Rabbit character from “Alice in Wonderland” allegedly refused to hug or touch their children because of their skin color.
Jason and Annelia Black of San Diego County said the person in the rabbit costume also acted impatiently as their young kids posed for a picture at the Anaheim theme park.
The Blacks, however, said it was a different scene when a Caucasian family arrived.
“There were two other kids that came up. The rabbit showered them. Hugged them, kissed them, posed with them, and took pictures. Meanwhile, that made my kids feel horrible,” said Jason.
The family immediately filed a complaint with Disneyland officials.
The Blacks said they were offered VIP passes and $500, but they turned down both gifts.
In addition, they were asked to sign a confidentiality agreement.
The family said they want a public apology and the employee involved in the incident to be fired.

Mark Levin explains to Eric Cantor how to respond to Barack Obama
(Washington Times)
The Washington Times first asked Mr. Panetta about the trips in November 2011. At the time, he acknowledged flying home 14 times since taking over as defense secretary in July — nearly every weekend — and had no plans to curtail the trips.
Each flight home and back cost the Pentagon an estimated $32,000, andMr. Panetta is required to pay only $630 per trip — the cost of an equivalent round-trip commercial flight.
If he continued to go home nearly every weekend, the taxpayer tab for his time as defense secretary alone would top $3 million by now, and he would be required to pay back a fraction of that cost.
For security reasons, the government requires all defense secretaries to use the military equivalent of a Gulfstream jet for all travel. When he agreed to take top jobs at the CIA and the Pentagon, Mr. Panettaworked out a deal with President Obama to allow the trips back to California, a defense official said at the time.

| A New York appellate court has ruled that the New York Times‘s request for a list of gun owners in New York City, under the Freedom of Information Law, violates the state’s statute. The ruling overturns in part a lower court’s ruling.
“Order and judgment (one paper), Supreme Court, New York County (Jane S. Solomon, J.), entered November 1, 2011, granting the petition to the extent it sought an order directing respondent, under the Freedom of Information Law (Public Officers Law § 84 et seq.) (FOIL), to provide an electronic copy of a database, as redacted, of names and addresses of New York City residents who have been granted handgun licenses, and a database, to be redacted, of hate crimes reported to respondent from January 1, 2005 to the present, and denying the petition to the extent it sought an order directing respondent to provide an electronic copy of its crime incident database, a declaration that respondent’s practices in responding to FOIL requests violate the statute, and an order directing respondent to cease these practices, unanimously modified, on the law, to deny the petition as to the databases of handgun licensees and hate crimes and to reinstate the petition with respect to the demand for the crime incident database, insofar as it seeks production of the electronic crime incident database produced in Floyd v City of New York (08 Civ 01034 [SAS] [US Dist Ct, SD NY]) (the Floyd database), and the matter remitted to Supreme Court for a determination of whether production of the Floyd database should be ordered, and, if so, to what extent and under what conditions, and otherwise affirmed, without costs,” reads the ruling. “The court correctly declined to declare that respondent’s responses to FOIL requests and rulings on administrative appeals are as a matter of practice untimely and to order respondent to cease this practice. The FOIL requester’s statutory remedy for an untimely response or ruling is to deem the response a denial and commence a CPLR article 78 proceeding “for review of such denial” (Public Officers Law § 89[4][a],[b]; Matter of Miller v New York State Dept. of Transp., 58 AD3d 981, 983 [3d Dept 2009], lv denied 12 NY3d 712 [2009]). Review of a FOIL determination does not provide for mandamus relief (see Matter of Harvey v Hynes, 174 Misc 2d 174, 177 [Sup Ct, Kings County 1997]).” The appellate court rules that a lower court erred by ordering the release of “the home addresses of handgun licensees in electronic form.” “The court erred in ordering respondent to release the home addresses of handgun licensees in electronic form. The fact that Penal Law § 400.00(5) makes the name and address of a handgun license holder “a public record” is not dispositive of whether respondent can assert the privacy and safety exemptions to FOIL disclosure, especially when petitioners seek the names and addresses in electronic form (see Matter of New York State Rifle & Pistol Assn., Inc. v Kelly, 55 AD3d 222, 226 [1st Dept 2008]). In addition, “[d]isclosing a person’s home address implicates a heightened privacy concern” (Matter of New York State United Teachers v Brighter Choice Charter School, 64 AD3d 1130, 1132 [3d Dept 2009], citing, inter alia, Public Officers Law § 89[7], revd on other grounds 15 NY3d 560 [2010]).” The ruling adds, “However, the Floyd database was produced in an unrelated federal action, governed by very different standards from those that govern public access to records under FOIL (see Svaigsen v City of New York, 203 AD2d 32 [1st Dept 1994]). Further, the database was produced pursuant to strict confidentiality requirements, which indicates that disclosure to the [*4]general public would, at a minimum, raise serious confidentiality and privacy concerns. Accordingly, we remand to Supreme Court to determine whether the Floyd database should be released, and if so, under what conditions.” |

A Colorado second-grader may be suspended from his elementary school after he disobeyed a key rule of no weapons, real or imaginary, when he tossed an imaginary grenade Friday during recess and went, ‘pshhh,’ to indicate that the imaginary device detonated, KDVR.com reported.
Alex Watkins,7, who attends Mary Blair Elementary in Loveland, said he was playing the game “Rescue the World.” He plays the role of a heroic soldier out to rid the world of an evil threat.
His duties led him to throw the imaginary grenade into a box he pretended contained evil forces. He said he didn’t make any threats and was playing by himself, KDVR.com reported.
The school has a list of ‘absolutes’ that states no weapons, even if they’re imaginary. A phone call Tuesday morning from FoxNews.com to the school was not immediately returned.
“Honestly, I don’t think the rule is very realistic for kids this age,” Mandie Watkins, Alex’s mom, told KDVR.com. “I think that when a child is trying to save the world, I don’t think he should be punished for it.”
Alex, for his part, told the station that he can’t believe he got “dispended.”

“TAKE THAT Obama-Zombie-Beeeetch!”
| I remember what it was like to get into Yale. At seventeen, that mildly sunny Friday afternoon in December opened into an oceanic river yawning into a skyline of vague but destined brilliance. All the sacrifices I’d made, compromises I’d swallowed, and hardships I’d weathered had suddenly yielded the finest dividends I could have hoped for. By the time May rolled around and I had conquered my International Baccalaureate exams, I was incorrigible. My star was rising, and the idea that anything this side of matriculation mattered was a nearly impossible sell.
And yet, the real world tumbled on. I needed money for college, so I had to get a job for the summer between high school and pre-orientation. For only the second time in my life — and the first in the private sector — my time was a facet of other people’s bottom lines, and they cared not one whit for my imaginations of grandeur. My Jeep sputtered and demanded service like a petulant millennial. I had to lose a Saturday changing out a flat tire and buying a new one. Gas prices were suddenly my concern, rather than just my parents’. Beyond all that, I finally got to New Haven only to find my star not quite as bright as I had let myself believe. I learned a lot about humility from age 18 to 22. I don’t know what, exactly, President Obama learned over the four years of his first term. I notice that second-term Obama inherited quite a mess — underemployment is higher, more people are out of work, racial disparity is wider, and labor participation is lower than when first-term Obama moved into the White House. Not surprisingly, the economy, jobs, and the debt are the top issues for most Americans. More bafflingly, however, none of these issues appears on the short list of a second-term agenda that reads more like a progressive manifesto than a disciplined contract with America. What’s most striking, however, is not the fact of his shameless liberalism — most of us expected that much — but the way his meteoric boldness is divorced from what should by now be intuitive political understanding. Assuming the Democrats believe their own mythology, Team Obama must posit that the president’s aggressive interjection on any sensitive issue is likely to complicate, if not derail, consensus-building. So in light of a bipartisan Senate outline for immigration reform, what on Earth did President Republicans-All-Hate-Me expect to accomplish with his immigration speech? Does he honestly believe including immigration provisions for same-sex spouses will be more feasible because of his public grandstanding? Is it all of a sudden the case that his front-and-center presence will grease over the wheels of political action? Did his perceived failings in his first term really come down to not enough sternly worded speeches? Ronald Reagan was fond of saying, “It is amazing what you can accomplish if you don’t care who gets the credit.” The corollary, of course, is that it is amazing how much you can obstruct your own stated goals when your primary concern is husbanding your own legacy. (But if Obama is going to cultivate part of that legacy on the rocky, urban soil of gun control, at least he had the forethought to have a camera ready for that one time he went skeet shooting.) So let’s not mince words. In the late push to enshrine the progressive revolt against the prosperity of Reagan’s free markets and the Clinton-Gingrich balanced budgets, Obama has all but sidelined the once central push for jobs and a robust economy. In doubling down on the creeping expansion of the welfare state, he is expected to ignore the advice of his own jobs council in favor of an expansive regulatory regime. Never mind that free enterprise and some attendant inequality are vital to a climate of robust innovation. With a contracting economy and unemployment eking upward, the unemployment of the jobs council certainly clarifies priorities. Notwithstanding the stagnant economic promise of Barack Obama’s America, the president’s left flank remains determined to see in him the same singular greatness he doubtlessly sees in himself. All flaws, failings, and ambitions unrealized are the fault of maleficent Republicans tilting bitterly at the windmills of Hope & Change™ because they hate minorities or something. The president’s approval ratings are impressively high on the afterglow of his re-election, and liberals have already carved his place in the 21st-century Pantheon of the “post-Rushmore Rushmore.” While the media remains complicit in the impression of progress on jobless “hot button” issues, this polling advantage might persist for a time. But eventually, the ultimate questions will crescendo: Where is the progress? Where are the (good) jobs? The flying unicorn mythology of Obama’s legend — a hodgepodge of truth, legerdemain, and outright fantasy — was a problem evident in that early rebuke of Eric Cantor: “Elections have consequences, and at the end of the day, I won.” It continued in a pattern of unanimous rejections at the Supreme Court through the recent judicial rebuke of the unprecedented expansion ofexecutive authority to declare when the Senate is not in session — a step even George W. Bush did not take. Most recently it emerged in the fantastic notion that a skeet-shooting photo has any more relevance to a discussion on the right to self-defense than “American Idol” balloting has to the right to suffrage. Obama’s cool hubris is a fascinating extension of the atmospheric self-infatuation that characterizes his young American bulwark of support. It’s small wonder that a generation raised on social promotion — as opposed to demonstrable merit — and feel-good pop moralism — as opposed to substantive ethics and results — would increasingly rate itself “above average” while clingingto a commander-in-chief who simultaneously embodies and enables the party of lip-service responsibility amid spiraling insolvency. The sad irony is that Obama’s governance is in many ways the instantiation of the America of my generation. The staggering self-absorption prevents the kind of raw but earnest self-reflection that would reveal a rather inconvenient but obvious truth: we would rather convince ourselves and others that we love and represent humanity than undergo the hard, unflattering work of ensuring that anyone but ourselves is substantively better off. Thus the focus on “hot button” issues to the neglect of a broader, practicable vision of the world. As William Kremer put it, “Narcissists may say all the right things, but their actions eventually reveal them to be self-serving.” To the degree that young America is the Obama demographic, we are The Post-Everything Generation of Internet activists, community organizers, and It Gets Better. Our leaders are terrified of civilian weaponry they don’t bother to understand and yet are comfortable deriding a prince in active military service. They borrow endlessly with no regard for our future or our children, and we dutifully enable them with paeans to “intersectionality” and “kyriarchy” (neither of which, according to Windows and Chrome, are even words). Our philosophy is post-reality, our metric post-results, and our outlook post-narcissism. We are a cesspool of vanities anathema to pride or consequence. We are the generation of Hope, which is but reified wind. But nothing is forever. One day soon, Obama’s colossal pride will stumble in the ever-quaking rumble of reality, and my generation will discover its liberalism is at odds with its entitlement. In the end, we all just want to do right by our convictions. As my eighteen-year-old self discovered the world wouldn’t change my ruined tire, no matter how much I valued and deserved my weekend, there will be a day of reckoning for the big-government activism of the Obama coalition. | Paul Guaschino was driving Friday when a fellow motorist spotted an “Impeach Obama” bumper sticker on the 62-year-old Connecticut resident’s vehicle.
In response, Guaschino allegedly followed the other driver to a traffic light, where he exited his car–baseball bat in hand–and struck the trunk of the middle finger-waving driver. The second motorist “fled in fear of his safety,” police reported. The road rage incident resulted in three criminal charges being filed against Guaschino (threatening, criminal mischief, and breach of peace). Guaschino, who did not return a message left at his Manchester home, is scheduled for a February 20 Superior Court appearance. While state records show that Guaschino is registered to vote, he has not declared a party affiliation. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/buster/impeach-obama-road-rage-875624 |

“Our country is in danger, but not to be despaired of. Our enemies are numerous and powerful; but we have many friends, determining to be free, and heaven and earth will aid the resolution. On you depend the fortunes of America. You are to decide the important question, on which rest the happiness and liberty of millions yet unborn. Act worthy of yourselves.”
–Joseph Warren, Boston Massacre Oration, 1775
(Wikipedia)
Dr. Joseph Warren (June 11, 1741 – June 17, 1775) was an American doctor who played a leading role in American Patriot organizations in Boston in early days of the American Revolution, eventually serving as president of the revolutionary Massachusetts Provincial Congress. Warren enlisted Paul Revere and William Dawes on April 18, 1775, to leave Boston and spread the alarm that the British garrison in Boston was setting out to raid the town of Concord and arrest rebel leaders John Hancock and Samuel Adams. Warren participated in the next day’s Battles of Lexington and Concord, which are commonly considered to be the opening engagements of the American Revolutionary War.
Warren had been commissioned a Major General in the colony’s militia shortly before the June 17, 1775 Battle of Bunker Hill. Rather than exercising his rank, Warren served in the battle as a private soldier, and was killed in combat when British troops stormed the redoubt atop Breed’s Hill. His death, immortalized in John Trumbull’s painting, The Death of General Warren at the Battle of Bunker’s Hill, June 17, 1775, galvanized the rebel forces, and he has been memorialized in many place names in the United States.

| An “odd” official photo of President Barack Obama shooting clay pigeons during a visit to Camp David has finally been published by the White House, but it comes with the administration’s typical copyright caveat: Don’t Photoshop it.
The photo, posted to the White House’s official Flickr page on Saturday, is a response to growing skepticism about Obama’s recent claim in an interview with The New Republic that he shoots clay pigeons “all the time.” (RELATED: Obama talks up gun cred in softball interview) The caption underneath the photo says it was taken on August 4, 2012 at Camp David. A lengthy disclaimer follows, warning viewers against tampering with the image. “This official White House photograph is being made available only for publication by news organizations and/or for personal use printing by the subject(s) of the photograph,” reads the disclaimer, which appears underneath all original photos on the White House’s Flickr account. “The photograph may not be manipulated in any way and may not be used in commercial or political materials, advertisements, emails, products, promotions that in any way suggests approval or endorsement of the President, the First Family, or the White House.” The White House has been dogged by the president’s statement that he regularly skeet shoots ever since The New Republic posted its sit-down interview in late January. In an apparent attempt to address critics, The New Republic even tweeted out on Tuesday what was later determined to be a fake photo of the president holding a gun. And on Wednesday, White House press secretary Jay Carney refused to respond to a challenge by Tennessee Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn, who offered to take the president on in a skeet shooting contest. (RELATED: White House backs out of one-on-one skeet shoot challenge) But even the polished photo released on Saturday has been met with some skepticism. Emily Miller, senior editor of the Washington Times opinion page, wrote on her Facebook profile that the photo looked “odd.” “The Obama skeet shooting photo looks odd to me because the clays come high or low, not straight,” wrote Miller. |

| (Jeff Poor, Daily Caller)On this weekend’s broadcast of “The McLaughlin Group,” conservative columnist and author of “Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?” Pat Buchanan said the bipartisan Senate immigration plan drafted by the so-called “gang of eight” will fail, damaging Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio’s chances of winning “The path to citizenship in my judgment is going to fail,” Buchanan said. “It will certainly be stopped in the House, and I think Marco Rubio, who has gotten himself out front on it, will be badly damaged, because I think there’s going to be a rising populist reaction to his proposal.” Newsweek’s Eleanor Clift agreed with Buchanan, adding that the downfall of immigration reform would also cost Republicans generally in the 2014 midterms. “It’ll pass the Senate probably with 70-plus votes,” Clift said. “And then the House is problematical for the very reasons that Pat just outlined. Republicans don’t like giving the undocumented immigrants the path to citizenship. And if they block that, the Democrats have a helluva an issue going in the 2014 midterm elections.” Co-panelists Mort Zuckerman of U.S. News & World Report and moderator John McLaughlin predicted the legislation would indeed succeed, with McLaughlin saying Rubio will walk away from it just fine.

CHINESE HACKERS STEAL INFORMATION OF 53 NYT EMPLOYEES … WASHINGTON POST, WALL ST JOURNAL ALSO HACKED
Reports indicate that New York Times computers were breached by Chinese hackers following the NYT’s Oct. 25th investigation into the accumulation of wealth by a family member of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao. The attacks are allegedly retaliation for the NYT’s story, which “embarrassed the Communist Party leadership” just as the party was making a concerted effort to bridge the gap between the Chinese people and their leaders. Since that initial breach, hackers have gotten into the NYT’s computers again and again–“stealing reporters’ passwords and hunting for files on [the] investigation” into Wen’s family. To date, the hackers have been able to get into the personal files of 53 NYT employees. The Chinese government has denied that such hacking is taking place, stating that their country has laws against it. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2013/02/02/Chinese-Hackers-Get-Information-on-53-NYT-Employees http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2013/02/02/Washington-Post-also-hacked-by-Chinese |

Newtown officials:
“The vote, for now, only represents a request — it still needs to clear budget and logistical boundaries since the guards would come from the town’s police resources as opposed to the school board itself. But the plan ‘would put two eyes and ears — one armed, one unarmed — at each Newtown school,’ reports Bronxville Patch’s Davis Dunavin. The guards, officially called school resource officers (SROs), were already a fixture at all Newtown schools in the wake of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, but until this vote they were budgeted only to be a presence at middle and high Schools, according to NBC Connecticut.”

Obama’s jobs council gets the pink slip. As unemployment claims jump, the president laid off his jobs council.
http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2013/02/01/Obama-Lays-Off-His-Shovel-Ready-Jobs-Council
After the American economy delivered more bad news today in the form of an increase in the unemployment rate and job growth that barely kept up with the increase in population, it took exactly 4.3476 seconds for the Washington Post’s Ezra Klein and some flak for NBC News to jump before the “Morning Joe” cameras to assure Americans this was good news.
Apparently, the increase in the unemployment rate means the economy is so good, more people are joining the labor force … except 169,000 people dropped out of the labor force and the economy isn’t good; it collapsed over three points in the last quarter and shrunk 0.1.
The AP called today’s news “upbeat, ” you know, even though consumer confidence hit a two-year low. But still, people are optimistic and looking for work … in an economy where chronic unemployment hasn’t been this bad since World War II.
But according to Ezra Klein that’s because a government that increased spending during the last quarter of last year, actually decreased spending.
And George Orwell sings: doo da do da do da do…
The Media’s Top Five Rules:
1. No matter which way the unemployment rate goes, Obama is The Sun King.
2. No matter which way the GDP goes, Obama is The Sun King.
3. Obama can do nothing wrong, Republicans can do nothing right.
4. Squirrels are always bigger news than bad news for Obama.
5. Shut up, racist.
Poverty’s up, middle class incomes are down, one-in-five are on food stamps, the GAO says the deficit is “unsustainable,” and the only reason the unemployment rate isn’t closer to 11% is because the labor force has shrunk to thirty-year lows since Obama took office.
According to the media, though, if you look around, all you’ll see is the clover we are all sitting in.
UPDATE: NBC’s Chief White House Correspondent, Chuck Todd, just told America we’re at war with Eurasia today that, yeah-okay, the unemployment rate increased, but look at the squirrel these revisions. Todd’s also pretty sure the collapse in the GDP is due to a federal government not spending us into bankruptcy at a fast enough rate.
He then blamed the collapse in consumer confidence on DC gridlock.
Translation: Republicans are awful.
Fact: The media and The State are now one.

On Wednesday, the White House suggested the threat of sequester during the fiscal cliff negotiations was responsible for the dismal GDP report that showed the economy contracted during the fourth quarter.
White House press secretary Jay Carney tried to pin the blame squarely on Republicans, even though the sequestration proposal, as Bob Woodward reported, originated in the White House in 2011.
Carney faulted “Republicans in Congress” for the poor numbers because, he said, the GOP talked “about letting” automatic defense and spending cuts take effect “as though that were an acceptable thing.”
The White House, though, devised the sequestration plan as a political ploy to try and get concessions from Republicans during the budget and debt ceiling negotiations in 2011.
A spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner, Brendan Buck, said “these arbitrary, automatic cuts were a creation and demand of the White House in 2011.”
“Twice the House has passed legislation to replace them with common sense cuts and reforms,” he added. “If there was any uncertainty late last year about the sequester, it was because the Democratic-controlled Senate, per usual, never lifted a finger to pass a plan to replace it.”
| Walmart, one of the nation’s leading sites for ammunition and gun sales, has caved in to pressure from the leftist media, limiting ammunition sales per customer. According to a Walmart spokesperson, customers will be restricted to purchasing three boxes per day thanks to supply shortages. “In order to take care of as many customers as possible … all ammunition sales were limited to three boxes per customer, per day as supply is limited at this time.” |
Virginia’s Governor Bob McDonnell’s proposal to junk the state’s gas tax altogether has Pro-tax liberals arguing that the plan, which advanced in a House committee Wednesday, abolishes a needed source of government revenue while harming the environment by encouraging more driving.
They also object to the governor’s proposed tax on vehicles that run on electricity or natural gas, calling it the “Prius tax.”

“Is it reasonable to expect wisdom from the ignorant? Fidelity from the profligate? Assiduity and application to public business from men of a dissipated life? Is it reasonable to commit the management of public revenue to one who has wasted his own patrimony? Those, therefore, who pay no regard to religion and sobriety in the persons whom they send to the legislature of any State are guilty of the greatest absurdity and will soon pay dear for their folly.”

John Witherspoon (February 15, 1723 – November 15, 1794) was a Scots Presbyterian minister and a signatory of the United States Declaration of Independence[1] as a representative of New Jersey. As president of the College of New Jersey (1768–94; now Princeton University), he trained many leaders of the early nation and was the only active clergyman and the only college president to sign the Declaration.

Tuesday morning, many in the media went all in with a sanctimonious attack against gun-rights supporters, whom they accused of heckling Neil Heslin, the parent of a six-year-old boy murdered in the Sandy Hook massacre. The only problem is that it was all a lie. Mr. Heslin was not heckled.
If you look at the full, unedited tape (which was first obtained by Twitchy), you’ll see that after 15 minutes of the audience remaining respectfully silent as Mr. Heslin spoke out against assault weapons, he then turns to ask the audience a direct question:
I ask if there’s anybody in this room that can give me one reason or challenge this question … why anybody in this room needs to have one of these assault-style weapons or military weapons or high-capacity clips.
Mr. Heslin then pauses waiting for someone in the audience to answer. His question is respectfully asked but no one says a word.
Then Mr. Heslin says:
Not one person can answer that question.
And it’s only then that a few people do answer the question, and do so respectfully.
The full, unedited video proves the media is lying. This is not heckling, this is someone respectfully asking a question and receiving a respectful answer.
Here’s the unedited video. The moment in question occurs at the 15-minute mark:

So who are those spreading this libel? Twitchy has listed all the usual suspects….
The official Twitter accounts of The Daily Beast, Slate, The Huffington Post, MSNBC, Gawker, along wth Andrew Kaczynski of BuzzFeed Politics, CNN’s Piers Morgan, David Frum of the Daily Beast, Eric Boehlert of Media Matters, Michael Skolnik of the Global Grind, Democrat Congressman Jim Himes, Talking Point Memo’s Josh Marshall, and Vanity Fair’s Kurt Eichenwald.
And once again, NBC News has been caught red-handed maliciously editing video to further its left-wing agenda. This is how MSNBC crafted heckling where none occurred:

The media are so desperate to gin up energy and hate towards Second Amendment advocates in order to hand Obama a win that they’ve moved beyond bias and cheerleading and moved right into fraud.

President Barack Obama is set to reject the key compromise at the heart of a bipartisan deal on immigration reform announced by eight Senators yesterday. The president, who will deliver an address later today in Las Vegas, NV outlining his own immigration ideas, is reported to oppose linking a “path to citizenship” for illegal immigrants, a Democrat demand, to stronger law enforcement and better border security, a Republican demand. The president will apparently argue that the administration has met reasonable goals on enforcing current immigration legislation, and that additional security will merely create new obstacles to legalizing the roughly 12 million illegal immigrants thought to be living in the United States. The federal government accelerated deportations in the first years of the Obama presidency, and sent new personnel to patrol the southwestern border. |

Mark Mattioli, whose 6-year-old son James was killed at Sandy Hook, got a standing ovation when he said there are plenty of gun laws but they’re not properly enforced. He urged lawmakers to address the culture of violence.
“It’s a simple concept. We need civility across our nation,” he said. “What we’re seeing are symptoms of a bigger problem. This is a symptom. The problem is not gun laws. The problem is a lack of civility.”

They are referred to as “homo slackass-erectus”.
They were created by natural genetic downward evolution, caused by constant spineless posturing and spasmodic upper limb gestures.
New research has shown this to cause shorter legs and an inability to ambulate other than in an awkward shuffling gait.
The “drag-crotch” shape also seems to effect brain function.
Expect no eye contact or intelligent verbal communication.
This species seldom votes, but expects full government care.
Unfortunately, most are highly fertile.

Palin: ‘We Haven’t Yet Begun to Fight!’—Exclusive Interview with Breitbart News
Source: breitbart.com
In my research for the film I made on Governor Palin, The Undefeated, I was constantly amazed at the anti-establishment stands she took at every step in her rise to power. Moves that a conventional politician would run from, she embraced: in Wasilla, in Juneau, and in the rise of the Tea Party. Her ability to see “over the hill” to what is really important, what really matters, is what sets her apart.
Let’s hope he’s a better shot than he is a bowler.President Barack Obama has revealed that he is a regular shooter, according to an interview posted Sunday at The New Republic:
It is odd that the president would make that claim only now, after several years of tough campaigning, where such a revelation would have earned him both interest and praise from the voters he once dismissed as “bitter.” It is unclear whether Obama meant to include himself in his response; he is not directly quoted as saying he personally went shooting, but that “we”–people staying at Camp David–did so. He did not include or exclude himself specifically. But if Obama did, indeed, mean to refer to himself, it would not be the first time he has boasted of his sporting knowledge or prowess–often without the evidence to back him up. He has long claimed to be a fan of the Chicago White Sox, for example, but could not namea single White Sox player when asked, and incorrectly referred to the name of their home stadium as “Cominskey Field.” His basketball skills are also somewhat oversold: NBA commissioner David Stern said President Obama is “not as good as he thinks he is.” In his infamous bowling stunt during the Democratic primary in 2008, then-Sen. Obama bowled a 37, rolling his first ball straight into the gutter . Later, in an appearance on The Tonight Show, Obama mocked his performance as being worthy of the “Special Olympics,” a remark for which he was criticized and later apologized Obama’s shooting claim is evidently meant to assuage critics of his gun control proposals by reassuring them that he shares their enthusiasm for Second Amendment rights–not just sport shooting, but hunting in particular. Yet supporters of gun rights insist that the Second Amendment is about far more than hunting or even self-defense. As Breitbart News Editor-at-Large Ben Shapiro told Piers Morgan during their debate earlier this month: “The basis of the second amendment is not really about self defense and it’s not about hunting. It’s about resistance to government tyranny. That’s what the founders said and that’s what the right believe in this country.” Nearly two-thirds of the nation–not just gun owners–agreed with Shapiro in a recent Rasmussen poll. Curiously, the president attempted to draw a distinction between gun ownership in rural areas versus urban areas, according to the interview:
Were any other politician to have made such a distinction, they might well have been accused of racism. Whether the Constitution recognizes such geographic distinctions or not, the president’s warning contrasts with the views of at least some law enforcement agencies. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, Jr. recently urged residents to become familiar with the use of firearms for their own protection. This much can be said for President Obama: if he is indeed as regular a shooter as he claims to be, he has not shot anyone in the face. |
