The New 0bama

by on June 7, 2012

From hope and change to fear and smear.

Barack Obama lately has been accusing presumptive rival Mitt Romney of not waging his campaign in the nice (but losing) manner of John McCain in 2008. But a more marked difference can be seen in Obama himself, whose style and record bear no resemblance to his glory days of four years ago.  . . .

Well, well, well. Our affirmative-action Wizard of Oz has now had to manage the Big Prize for four years, and unlike anything else he’s done before, this job comes with a record, and a measurable one at that. So, no more voting “present.” No more stepping on the shoulders of those who pulled you up from the next-lower rung. No more using the highest position you’ve achieved as a foot-stool to reach one even higher. This is it.

Or rather, this was it. You’ve wanted it, you thought yourself capable or handling it–indeed, at times you’ve shown yourself even dismissively superior to the office–and your phony ark of hope, change, bipartisanship and racial harmony has sunk into the sea of lies that was supposed to buoy it.

Now, here you stand–Barry, BArack or baRACK, whoever you are–no longer capable to recast yourself into a fresh persona so you can con the next group of gullible strangers. We are no longer strangers to you. You are the single, pathetic, central figure in a Dali-like landscape of failures–each one chained to you. The boyish smile of hope and change has turned into the grim sneer of a man who needs to appeal to man’s basest instincts–fear, envy, hate, rapacity, rage–to save himself from the shame of defeat. Those polished hands that once conducted the hypnotic sounds of your soaring speeches have turned into dried-up claws trying to snag another prize that America, when sober, does not want you to have.

The reality in all this? We are not seeing “the new Obama.” This is the only Obama there ever has been: a power-hungry narcissist whose only political skill is creating and burning strawmen for his own advancement. A product of the Chicago political marketing machine, that would rather get the competition recalled rather than proving to the buying public that he’s the better buy. An affirmative-action golden boy, whose lack of original thought and hard skills would have had him (at best) practicing law in a two-bit firm in any culture other than the West he has (ironically) made a career to despise as racist.

Enough with him, with the detestable Holder, with the cadre of talentless ideologue hacks that surround him, with his divisive ploys, with the malaise he is causing America–and most of all, with having to hear his nauseating voice every day, as he delivers the next set of immature taunts against a half of his fellow citizens. Our next president will be president of all, thank you very much. And on November 3rd, if things go as they should, the birds will indeed be churpin’.
