Massachusetts – 47th for Job Growth

by on March 9, 2012

On Massachusetts being the 47th state for job growth under Governor Romney:

This actually appears to be a very misleading statistic to cite. Under Romney the state had high employment numbers and low unemployment numbers so there was not much room for new job growth and not much opportunity to move up in the state rankings for job growth.

mitt did little to impact job creation & growth – that’s the fact – unemployment is relative – 47 rank stinks & he did little to decrease that number regardless relatively low unemployment – guess he shouldve stayed in the private sector. but you never did answer my Q: why would we want the Loser to the Loser in 08 to be our 2012 nom????

Facts are facts. And no actually the rank doesn’t stink at all when your state has near full employment already!!!

The answer’s been answered, but for the record, here is the answer again:

The McCain and Huckabee campaigns collaborated with each other through the 2008 delegate process in order to keep delegates from Romney who was a strong contender for the republican nomination and rivaled McCain throughout the 2008 primary. It was widely thought by many that the McCain campaign instructed their delegates to switch over to Huckabee in order to avoid a Romney victory. In the state of WV, Romney was ahead by a wide margin in the polls. Since McCain was significantly ahead of Huckabee nationally, but only ahead of Romney by 17 delegates, McCain could easily give up the WV delegates to Huckabee, but not to Romney. In the end, Huckabee won the WV vote with 52%, Romney finished second with 47%, and McCain–whose support went to Huckabee–with only 1% of the vote.

By the way, you haven’t answered the question of why you want a loser who lost in his own Pennsylvania senate seat? Or a disgraced former speaker of the house??

Does Rick Santorum have electability issues if he lost his Pennsylvania U.S. Senate seat by 18 points?

What are you talking about??? Where did you get “8%”?? Are you just making that number up??? If it were at 8% then the ranking would be pathetic, but it’s not.

The facts have been provided here with the actual unemployment numbers all cited in the link, which show Massachusetts had a very low unemployment rate the years Romney was governor, near full employment. 4.5% is considered to be full employment, thus with little room to add jobs and to raise one’s standing in state rankings.

cite “the facts” to all the unemployed during the years cited… just because there may have been “relatively” lower unemployment #’s when compared to say 8 % doesn’t mean there was no unemployment issue which actually translates into what a Gov does to create job growth across the board – 47th rank is pathetic and shows his weak application coming from the private sector to the public and being an effective leader for growth so unemployed have opportunity and job creation is dynamic – he was probably more focused though on concocting his romneycare manuscript…… 😦

Facts are facts. Like I said, it’s a rather misleading stat to be citing to try to hurt Romney! It doesn’t do that at all when you look at all the facts. BTW, facts are never excuses.

the more i hear “of” this guy – the more i hear “from” this guy – the more uninspiring he is…. this past month esp. his campaigning has been marked by negativity toward his repub opponents while timidity and indifference has been shown toward Obamacon and the need to draw a stark contrast between the obama&romney records – this is highly disturbing and unacceptable!

is this what we have to look forward to, excuses! if MittMcCain was such a private sector olympic goldmedal jobcreating wizard like he claims he should’ve left Mass ranking in the top tier – should he have not? if he were to inherit the presidency & the mess left by the current-commie would we hear the same lame excuses from MittMcCain as we hear about his Mass governance?? what happened to his magic of turning lemons into lemonade?? this election way to important to roll the dice on Another moderate!
