Opinion: From the Right: Biden’s school visits mask hidden agenda

President Barack Obama hasn’t been very successful in portraying the benefits of his jobs bill, so Vice President Joe Biden took matters into his own hands by visiting elementary schools to inform students on ways to boost the economy. However, these series of visits didn’t go as planned.
Although the idea of teaching children about the recession and unemployment rate looks and sounds professional, this was just another publicity stunt for Obama’s re-election campaign.
Cameras, news stations, newspapers and many other media companies attended each of Biden’s school visits. A reccurring trend at each visit was that the focus was on Obama and what he wants to do if re-elected — rarely focusing on the students. Furthermore, Biden’s speeches were so informational and complex that none of the children could understand what was said.
The proposed American Jobs Act was the focal point of Biden’s lectures, focusing on how the piece of legislation would help school districts hire and rehire teachers. In the videos streamed after each visit, Biden tried to explain how budget cuts were affecting schools, where money should be going and what Obama plans to do in the future. The children looked bored and confused.
This raises the question, “What are the president and vice president’s motives?”
It is obvious Obama is feeling the heat with all of the publicity the GOP candidates are getting, but is this going too far?
Teaching children about the government is a good idea, but using children as decoys in order to publicize another jobs bill seems irrational. These pieces of legislation are so detailed that it would be difficult for any adult to fully understand them in the first place. Also, attacking party lines in front of the students who barely know how to do arithmetic isn’t quite fair either — but that’s politics, right?
Politicians are known for going to any extreme to get their point across, and though Biden’s school visits were seemingly harmless, they were done for the wrong reasons.
It is always great to see politicians get involved with communities to inspire younger generations, but whether the actions are done for the right reasons has Americans questioning the government.
The moral of this debate, along with many other unrelated arguments, is that America needs leaders who are real and trustworthy. It doesn’t even matter if they’re a Democrat, Republican, Independent or so on.
If Obama and Biden want to propose the American Jobs Act, they need to address the problems to adults and not second-graders.
“we don’t need no fundamental transformation – we don’t need our earnings controlled – no socialism in the boardroom – BIDEN LEAVE THEM SECOND GRADERS ALONE – hey, McChelle leave our kids food alone! – all in all barack will sink like a brick in the fall – all in all your gonna sink like a brick come this fall!”
